@TheRiverLock Nostra Aetate does not conflict with any dogmatic definition in past Church teaching.
Interestingly, Marcel Lefebrve physically signed Nostra Aetate and so agreed, least at that time, that Nostra Aetate did not contain any conflict with past magisterial teaching.

@StMichael71 "the Church officially rejected their heretical... slop" I don't understand Father, you are saying that the Church pre-V2 taught heresy on the jews? Because the "hateful" teachings on the jews is found in Ecumenical Councils, and Papal documents. Doesn't this deny infallibility?

Eckert is the study that was a backdrop for Paul VI's decision.

@AntonioGodoyC Post corrected. The judicial proceedings were halted by the pope and the cultus was never officially recognized through either canonization or beatification. The story was included in the Martyrology, but it was controversial from day one. Historical studies support the move.

@HiddenYorkshire I agree that some Protestants have views approximating transubstantiation, and that non-Catholics sometimes do hold such views. But this is a truly miniscule number of Protestant groups. Roughly, it's a small subset of Anglo-Catholics.
English

@HiddenYorkshire I think that's not true. Many Protestants who want to appear traditional *today* are referring to 'real presence,' but mean something totally different than what Catholics/Orthodox mean.
They don't mean what we mean by 'real,' as shown in what they do with Eucharistic particles.

@StMichael71 Is it the same one as can be read (unofficial and optional) in Universalis?
