@metalheadmosh @PatsyDiabetes And we won't even delve into the grammar...
"There [are] literally..."

@philosophymeme0 Gosh, it's a good thing we live in a universe of infinite resources!
It's also a good thing that humanity's first trillionaire is using his wealth to extend humanity's grasp to those infinite resources.

@multiplanet1 Yet shitlibs think they deserve the lion's share of what he's created... ☹️

Elon Musk got rejected by Netscape. He walked into the lobby, was too shy to talk to anyone, and walked out. Never got the job.
At his first company Zip2, the board demoted him. Twice. They refused to let him be CEO.
He got fired from PayPal as CEO while flying to his own honeymoon. The board voted him out mid air.
He almost died of malaria in 2000. Ten days in intensive care. Lost 45 pounds. A day from death.
His first child died at 10 weeks old.
His first rocket exploded. Falcon 1, flight one. Burned on the pad.
His second rocket exploded.
His third rocket exploded. The last of his money was nearly gone.
Tesla nearly went bankrupt in 2008. The closest he ever came to a nervous breakdown.
Both companies almost died on the same Christmas Eve.
He was sued by investors. Mocked by the people who built cars before him.
His childhood heroes, the astronauts who inspired him, testified against his company to Congress.
The Cybertruck window shattered on live stage in front of the world.
He overpaid for Twitter by his own admission and watched its value collapse.
He was beaten unconscious as a child and thrown down a flight of stairs.
He has said he goes to sleep alone and it kills him.
He failed in public, over and over, for thirty years.
He is the richest man in the history of the world.
The difference was never the absence of failure. It was the refusal to stop after it.

@japan_nobunaga Yes sir, as a freedom loving American, I own multiple firearms. I own pistols, shotguns, and rifles.
We (gun owning) Americans see our firearms in a manner similar to how a Samurai might see his Katana or his Tantō...
English

Be honest with me, Americans 🇺🇸
Do you actually own a gun?
In Japan, I have never seen a real one. Not once.
Not at a friend's house. Not in a drawer. Never.
But online, every American just goes
"oh, mine's in the nightstand"
like it's a phone charger 🔌
So now I'm genuinely curious:
What's YOUR gun? The very first one you ever got?
Is this normal everywhere in the US?
Or just some states?

@priscabdrO @PatriotWoman22 Channeling my inner shitlib:
They're white girls and needed to be punished for their inherent privilege. Those poor, oppressed, migrants were giving those privileged girls some well-deserved racial justice.
English

11, 12, and 14 years old.
Raped for days by more than 20 Pakistani immigrants.
Tortured—one had her tongue nailed to the wall to keep her still while they raped her.
The police ridiculed, insulted, and ignored them.
The feminists turned the other way.
If it hadn't been for Elon Musk, who publicly shared the trial testimonies, sparking outrage from Reform UK and internal investigations, no one would have known anything.
You're not angry enough.

@ExtrovertedNerd @David90shaw Perhaps they should take a page from our book and tell the Red Coats to go pound sand.
Just as the French assisted us in kicking King George's ass out of The Colonies, maybe we Americans should donate guns and ammo to the disaffected brits so they can Make Britain Great Again...

English

@David90shaw I need to start collecting links to these stories as evidence why our 2nd Amendment is so important.
Go get your guns back. Don't ask for permission. Don't wait for the law to change. Take your rights back.

🚨 YOU HONESTLY HAVE TO LAUGH AT THE ABSOLUTE HYPOCRISY.
As I have been warning all week, Keir Starmer is desperately trying to lock down your internet and ban social media.
But look at what he is doing behind closed doors today. 🤡
He is literally begging Donald Trump for a special exemption from the new American ban on Anthropic.
Starmer wants to restrict exactly what you are allowed to see and say online, while demanding unrestricted access to the most powerful technology on the planet for his own government.
It is one rule for the globalist elite and a digital prison for the rest of you.
RT if you see right through Two-Tier Starmer and refuse to let them control us! 🇬🇧🔥

Not every year. When hiring on, usually 10-20% over their initial offer.
Each subsequent year, I negotiated my raise.
Some years, when the company was profitable, I might get upwards of 20%.
Other years, when times were tight, maybe as little as 5%.
But, ALWAYS living below my means, driving older cars, living in a modest (paid off) house - with the remainder going straight to my retirement accounts.
English

Yes but human capital is typically the biggest expense in a business unit’s budget. If you’ve been able to negotiate a guaranteed 10-20% raise annually then kudos to you but it would be rare for anybody to agree to that. And no CFO is going to sign off on 10-20% increases across the board, your revenue would have to be growing 40-50% annually. Neither is sustainable.
I wish it were!
English

We ran a monthly phishing campaign through Proofpoint.
We'd compete to see who'd get the most failures, counted by the number of clicks.
I got the second highest with a November campaign of promise NSFW Halloween pictures on the other side of the link.
But I was bested by an accidental release of the Executive Team bonus report...
English

@SteveDubuc @jeremyct The end result was that I had to promise never to prank again and an "information security" department was formed. 🤡
English

@giveashitnature @HamasNenglish Yeah, the big problem is that my labs want to go play with the funny looking puddy-tat...

The skunk waddling across your yard at night is a pacifist who really just wants to eat your pests.
Skunks are grub specialists. They go for the larvae of Japanese beetles and June beetles, the same grubs that kill grass from the roots up, and they'll dig up a yellowjacket nest and eat the whole thing too. Those little cone-shaped holes in your lawn aren't vandalism. They're a skunk telling you that you had a grub problem, and that it's handling it.
And the spray? It's a last resort, and they really don't want to use it. A skunk is slow, near-sighted, and mild-mannered, and before it ever sprays it will warn you over and over: stomping its front feet, hissing, arching its back, lifting its tail, even making little fake charges. It's an animal begging you to just back away.
So if you see one trundling through your yard at dusk, you don't have a problem, you have a slow, gentle, near-blind exterminator doing a lap of your yard. Give it space and let it work.

English

@SteveDubuc @jeremyct That only works on the initial hire. Budgets are calculated and set so there’s more difficulty negotiating annual pay rises. It’s hard for any company to sustain 10-20% pay rises across the board.
This is not to say I don’t disagree that it would be better to retain the talent.
English

I ended my career as a CyberSecurity Engineer. I always liked being on the red team when we played our Cyber games.
Another advantage is that, when I get cornered at church with a tech support question, can tell them I hacked into corporate computers and know nothing about PCs.
I make the analogy of medical specialists, implying I'm a rheumatologist when they need a cardiac specialist...
English

@SteveDubuc @jeremyct Also, I'm familiar with AD as well as AAD. I've worked in that field previously. I transitioned to development because it was always my passion.
I'm typically called in when the lines get fuzzy between IT roles because I've worked many of those roles and still do some at home.

@LiveAncestral @Marilyn35262574 You'll own nothing, eat bugs, and be happy!

Scientists say we need to cut meat consumption by 75%.
Think about that for a second.
The food humans have eaten for millennia.
The food that provides complete protein, B12, iron, zinc, choline, and highly bioavailable nutrients.
That’s the thing they want less of.
Not sugary drinks.
Not candy.
Not breakfast cereals.
Not the endless aisles of packaged food.
Meat.
I find it fascinating that every solution seems to involve ordinary people giving up traditional foods while becoming more dependent on products made in factories.
Maybe I’m old fashioned.
But when someone tells me steak is the problem and ultra processed food isn’t, I’m going to ask a few questions.
Would you cut your meat intake by 75%?

English

@SenatorTimScott I wish him an immediate retirement so he can properly convalesce.
English

Exactly. I lost my job many times due to circumstances out of my control, layoffs, downsizing, RIFs, etc.
My last 20 years were with a strong and stable international manufacturing company. They grew by buying their suppliers, and I was able to grow with them.
Once they figured out I had a gift for computers - well, they employed the sentiment evinced by Deuteronomy 25:4...
English

@SteveDubuc @jeremyct I can relate. I typically exceed initial expectations when hired. I've been with the same employer for 15 years because they keep throwing money at me to prevent me from looking elsewhere. I'm pretty happy with my pay and the benefits are pretty great too.
English

@YupFedUp @1776General_ It was similar actions by British authority figures 250 years ago that engendered the Second Amendment right I enjoy today.
I fervently pray that you, one day, have a comparable right...
English

@theDemonGash @daveatherton @UberUK Unless the police think you're a racist, then they'll ensure you're handcuffed when you die...
English

@daveatherton @UberUK Just carry pepper spray and have your day in court knowing that you didn't get raped. The entire population would be behind you (and a few rich people on here) and could get this ridiculous law scrapped.
English

One of my followers saw my post of a 20 year old girl who was kidnapped by a Somali @UberUK driver & taken to a remote place in Wembley, presumably to be raped. She offers sound advice.
"Hi David, I recommend all women carry a tactical pen on them when they go out as they have a glass breaker on the end which can be used to break a vehicle window if a taxi driver attempts to kidnap you like this.
"Perhaps you could pass on this safety tip to other women? Thanks for your work.
"Best"
