Whether it's the US working to build a massive alliance in preparation for more brutal assaults in its unprovoked war of aggression, or Iranians making videos that mock Trump, both sides are violating the spirit of the cease-fire. :-Fe

If we accept the premise that money spent on science "should" go to public works, we are a) accepting the billions for wars of aggression and the war on immigrants, and b) sabotaging what little scientific research is still publicly supported. Science is required for progress.

I hate the whole "pay for the art you consume" mentality, because it implies that the poor should be deprived of art and culture. How about an economy that doesn't impoverish the majority of people and kill art in the process.

There is a noticeable smug aloofness among the pseudo-left about the No Kings protests. Yes it lacks any coherent aims and is organized by liberals, which is why it is so important for socialists to intervene with concrete goals. Millions of Americans will be on the streets today

also, it's utopian socialism so not Marxist but also not libslop, but I'm enjoying Falling Backwards by Bellamy.
