The people Muslims conquered (Persians, Spaniards, Indians etc) exist as their respective ethnic groups after 1000+ years of interaction. Europeans had barely 500 years of contact with Native Americans and wiped out 95% of them.

I don’t have a problem with him dancing - it’s the delusional, nonsensical, undeliverable, unaffordable policies that I object to. If you tax billionaires they will leave. If you tax private jets they will fly from/to somewhere else. If you nationalise private industries, taxpayers will have to pay for that and the interest on the debt. If confiscate private businesses no sensible investors/entrepreneurs will ever invest in the UK. If you impose rent controls you’ll see a reduction in supply and more homelessness. The remaining taxpayers who can’t or don’t want to leave will face exorbitant levels of tax/inflation totally out of control. We’d be an economic basket case within months.

@owenjonesjourno @OvePM Isn’t that exactly what sovereignty of parliament means? If people aren’t happy with it they can change their MPs, not so easy to change judges. Also in terms of checks and balances we have a second chamber for that.

It is not authoritarian for an elected Parliament to make decisions on order and national security. Can we please stop pushing the idea that only the judges can save us from democracy?
