what’s the best, grand unified theory on why Republicans seem totally OK with losing the House and possibly the Senate in the 2026 midterms, getting their POTUS impeached, and probably losing the next presidential election in 2028?

Iran are pretty clearly going for a nuke though.
Uranium enrichment centers...set deep into mountains, fairly obvious what the goal is.

A feature of the political left is that they must agree with everything their politicians stand for or they will be kicked off the team. So they assume that everyone who voted for Trump agrees with everything he said and does.
They project their worldview onto other people. Other people who do think for themselves and produce original thoughts and ideas of which they have none.
