@T_bleek Especially if you’re trading Kawhi there is zero reason to love down all the way to 12. Losing out on one of the 3 gaurds while having another 1st wouldn’t be ideal

@Chuck_555 Don’t see the motivation for the Bulls to do something like that. Miss out on Caleb Wilson and a top 15 pick in a good draft just to gamble on a future unprotected. Way too much risk to make a move like that.

@T_bleek Clippers are going to end up trading with Milwaukee after they get the 13th pick from the Giannis trade. Clippers are going trade 5 for 10 & 13. Also Milwaukee is going to flip Herro to Detroit for 21. Bucks end up with 5 & 21, Clippers end up 10 & 13 & draft Burries at 10.

@BostonBelli Yeah, could be, be they have the draft capital to do it. I know it’s not in Sam Presti’s DNA, but they do need to consolidate at some point and maybe after losing the Wemby you feel you want to overpay and take Mara early.

@T_bleek They’d have to really value someone at 5 to help them win, but what they need is a 4/5 and let hartenstein walk. But at 5 that could be early to grab one of them

@BostonBelli Yeah, maybe not, depends on if they really like someone. I also would like to see the Clippers make the kings trade up and secure Acuff. Because I’d feel a lot better getting another asset and getting one of Brown, Wagler or Burries at 7. I’d be bluffing hard for Acuff now

@joyballknower All good. I’d rather go this route instead of sitting in this purgatory of mediocrity. I also think by going this route you would have some cap space going into next offseason with a nice young core and can add some vets to make you a solid team again quick with potential to grow

@krabbypatty2025 If you can still get quality players at 12/17, and then you have control over your first pick next year. It’s harder to trade Kawhi without controlling your own pick next year. Thats my reasoning for it

@joyballknower I’m not following what you’re saying. Next year OKC has the rights to swap picks with the Clippers, my path involves them dropping that swap for next year so the Clippers control their own first rounder and can fully reset

@ClappedCollins I agree. But that’s not all I was proposing. The bigger part is getting that swap lifted for next year, and a nice role player in Isiah Joe (or similar) but as I’ve said, I would only do that if I were moving Kawhi and resetting the deck.

@khrisody Not just 12 and 17, the bigger piece is getting control of your own first rounder next year back and possible a quality player added in too. It’s a longer term play, but again, I would only do that if I could move Kahwi this offseason too and really reset

Instead, some people want them to hand OKC the opportunity to turn picks 12 and 17 into the 5th pick in one of the deepest drafts in recent memory. Then, when that player hits, we'll spend the next five years hearing about how the Thunder robbed the Clippers again.

@mathomp_501 It’s more of a risk for sure. But if you could get you’re pick back from OKC for next year, you still have a chance at quality to possible high upside player at 12, and then next year could have another top 5 pick (if you move Kawhi)

I floated this out there last month, the fall from 5 to 12 is pretty damn far though. Why i suggested that hypothetical 3 team trade with Dallas today.
I do think you need to consider all sides though, so i like this exercise

@RogCRoberts Of course, there is always risk. You could also view it that a lot of the guys at 5 are all lumped together, all have upside but all have questions, so could be a star, could be a bust. But, you mentioned SGA, who was the 11th pick in another loaded draft, so you never know.
