If no theologians could beat Hitchens back then, what chance do they think they have now?
Christopher Hitchens was the ultimate atheist nightmare for religious people.
He destroyed every pastor, theologian and apologist he faced with cold logic, brutal facts and zero mercy. Nobody could win against him.
They still get angry at his arguments because deep down they know he was right.
Rest in power, Hitch 🔥. The man who made God look small.

@internet_posts For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil may not dwell with you.
The boastful shall not stand before your eyes;
you hate all evildoers.
You destroy those who speak lies;
the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
— Psalm 5:4-6

Saul's conversion in Acts 9 dismantles at least three commonly held evangelical beliefs:
1. Decisional regeneration - Saul did not pray the "sinner's prayer." Saul fell to the ground, and Christ sovereignly saved him. Saul was Christ's "chosen instrument."
2. Comfortable life - Referring to Saul, Christ said, "I will show him how much he must suffer for My name." Jesus wasn't exactly seeker-friendly.
3. God doesn't make anybody sick - Immediately upon saving him, Christ struck Saul with blindness for three days.
Put Acts 9 in your seeker-friendly, Word-Faith prosperity gospel pipe and smoke it. 😉

@TheMuppetPastor Given our free will, we would never choose Christ.

You don’t have to be a Calvinist to believe in election and predestination. Christians do indeed believe this. But it was always believed that all who choose to accept Christ and follow Him are elect. And just as Jesus was predestined to die for our sins, God has planned many things from the beginning.
It’s seen more as a mystery of God that we can’t understand or explain.
However, we must choose to accept Christ and believe. And we must bear spiritual fruit. At the end, these things matter more than theological debates.
And you are my sibling in Christ if you accept and follow Jesus, despite theological differences.

What is the #1 lie of modern Christianity?

I’m not agnostic. I’m an atheist.
I don’t “think” there’s no God I know there isn’t one. Same way I know gravity exists and evolution is a fact. Most people already know this shit deep down.
They just won’t admit it.
The truth terrifies them. They know they’re going to die and rot, so they cling to fairy tales like scared children. They suppress it, get angry when you point it out, and hide behind comforting lies.
Atheism isn’t a belief. It’s the rational conclusion when you stop coping and face reality.
Grow a spine and accept it.
No sky daddy is coming to save you!
