@Tesla_Optimus_V @MobofJoggers For robotaxi use probably. Depends on the area I guess. I've had my Model Y since October and have only washed the car once. My cameras are still always clear. But you could always have a bird crap on them or mud splash up on them.

Red steering wheel incident. This is by far the worst thing I have had occur on FSD 14.2.2.4. I tried it three times and every time it failed. It was supposed to take a left and the left blinker was on, but it looks like it started to take a right and then it stopped, displayed the red starting wheel and told me to take over while I was pulled out into the lane.

NEWS: Tesla is Robotaxi service testing in Orlando, Florida. Multiple new Model Ys with rear camera washers and Texas manufacturer license plates have been spotted at the Tesla Lee Vista Blvd store in Orlando. Only the Model Y Robotaxis in Austin have had rear camera washers. Tesla said on its Q4 earnings call that Orlando was one of the 7 planned metro areas that would see robotaxi coverage in the first half of 2026. Thx for sending me the pics @lucretiupop!

It at least demonstrates how thousands of us see Tesla FSD perform every day in the same and similar situations. It further emphasises that she disengaged (intentionally or not) 4 seconds before the crash and FSD would have slowed past the 15 mph sign had she not done so. It's becoming more and more Occam's razor with each new piece of evidence.

@JCChristopher “FSD does the same exact thing every single time across old and new versions in every single driving scenario” is not the dunk you think it is

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

It's CRAZY to me that the Model Y L is $20k cheaper than the Kia EV9 here in Australia, yet 1000x better in every single way.
Scott Dembraski@SDembraski

My wife returns the Kia EV9 today. She is sad because she loved the color and practicality it had. She did really like “Bluey” lol. Overall we had no problems with it. No battery issues as some had. We were thankful. She’s not going to miss how it handled in the snow or bad weather. It had all season tires but seemed to slide around and she didn’t like that. The range was ok. We didn’t really travel with it. She mainly used it around town, but I think the range was maybe around 250 miles, she only supercharged it a few times at Electrify America Tesla only recently opened up charging to Kia, but we never needed it. Most times we would just take my Model S when traveling, especially because of the FSD. She wanted to possibly buy out the lease but Kia wanted way too much money for this thing. I think it was around $54,000, 2 years old with 23,000 miles. No thanks, we see used ones with less miles in the $30,000 price range. Now we play the waiting game, what she really wants is the Tesla Model YL She is going to drive my Model S for now. She’s OK with driving it, but she doesn’t like how low it sits and really hopes the YL comes soon. Please @tesla bring the Model YL to the US soon before she decides to go buy a legacy SUV that is inferior and cannot drive itself and the software is trash but just adds more buttons to try and make up for it. 🙏🏼

@MobofJoggers If you watch the red fire hydrant in the camera view on your car's screen from 0:05 to 0:08, you see it go from fairly clear at the edge to completely blurry, as if the camera has Vaseline smeared all over it.

@MobofJoggers The car was saying your camera is dirty and has limited visibility. Even in your video, you can see how foggy and smeary it is before it displays the red hands. You can't make out anything through it.

@321lift0ff @ReposedAnchor I sell covered calls when IV is .7 or above and we've run up significantly. Buy them back during times like this when IV is low. .45 currently.

Do you think this will be the next EV to get canceled? Just spotted this Chevy Silverado EV backing up for a charge while I was leaving Kuttawa, KY on my way to Chattanooga Also Tesla did a great thing by opening up their supercharging network!

@DavidMoss Wouldn't it almost have to happen? At least for a limited test period. Regulators are stupid that way. They need to cover their ass and be able to say, "we had them test first with safety drivers"

I just thought of a funny scenario 😂 This won’t happen but imagine if Cybercab when it first gets added into the Robotaxi network are supervised & you have to sit awkwardly in close quarters with a stranger who has to stay silent. Would make some for epic clips messing with them like people try to do with Buckingham Palace Guards

Chad - Houston driver here, know exactly where that spot is. My FSD struggles with the non-conventional nature of the elevated HOV exit/entrances, especially if through traffic is not suppose to go over the elevated part. FSD will, in error, opt to take the “through” path, in error, resulting in freeway speeds (consistent with the video) as well as the curbs designed to funnel traffic off the HOV system, which is what the driver was trying to dodge as she approached the turnoff.

Here's the original video, which looks like it's actual speed. I used two markers and consistently measured it. It took 75 frames in a 30 FPS video to travel 212.63 ft equating to 57.9 MPH (probably 60). The incident occurred in August of 2025. These are just facts. Yes the driver should have intervened sooner. Yes, FSD was approaching way too fast.

I normally don't bother armchair quarterbacking these situations. But watching the Tesla Stans come into the comments is funny. Elon said Autopilot (FSD?) was disengaged 4s before the impact which if you watch the video looks like it was going way too fast at that point. Am I missing something?
