I’ve been saying it for years . WSOP I think assumes that everyone is a pro and doesn’t have jobs or families to attend to. 930 Is way too late for the east coast. Because by time late reg is done it’s 1 am , and basically you have to plan to call out of work the next day anytime you want to play one of these events

@BellagioPoker The holdem needs to be 5/10 in order for the game to succeed . Round by round games get stale unless the holdem is bigger than the PLO. Inevetively when people get stuck, they wanna play all plo.

@kwansfull No one should say anything. If the hands were both tabled and dealer doesn’t see chop, then absolutely speak up. Cards speak, but only if they’re tabled.

@ninelivescatt Think the key here is you being UTG+1. CO or BTN you can call all day. It’s less bad in 1/2 where light squeezes will be non existent in most lineups, but generally you want to 3bet or fold in the earlier positions

Recently have made a lot of amazing poker friends who play way bigger stakes than I do. Learning and breaking bad habits is a bit painful for me but work just has to be done. Example: I was utg+1 and called a 10$ raise playing 1/2 with 66. Flop came out KK6. While I flopped third nuts all of my poker friends told me I should have folded pre because I’m burning money if I don’t catch a 6 on the flop. Annoying but they’re all rich and I’m not so I take their advice 100%. In a priv game u bet im 3 betting or calling but learning to fold and learning gto and theory is so mind fucky.

@marcgoone As someone who’s been on both sides of it, this is spot on. I enjoy the game more now as a side hustle and knowing my results have no bearing on paying my bills.

the absolute best advice i could give struggling / aspiring full time poker players: get a job and keep poker as a fun hobby for me, poker only made sense because i had very few other skills and i was making so much more from poker that doing anything else full time would have been financially idiotic for 99% of people, i absolutely wouldn’t recommend it

@TNOQuoProQuid A lot changes in each playthrough of Silent Hill f to be fair. Different Cutscenes, Voicelines, items etc. The Replays make sense in the context of the story being told. BUT - I totally get not liking it.

please do not make a 30+ hour video game and then make it so that i can only access a “true ending” by playing through it again, especially if the "true ending" is worse.

To give some context, as this post is very misleading 🧵 Nosebleed HU cash games are an extremely tricky environment for any site to manage. On @CoinPoker_OFF currently run by far the biggest games in the world, with a VIP who specifically requested to play super high stakes. Amateurs love playing Headsup, but the reality is that today’s top regs are exceptionally strong. Without adjustments, amateurs are simply burning money too fast & games will die. On top of that, there is significant bumhunting. This creates a dynamic where recreational players lose at extreme rates, often 20bb+/100 hands. At these stakes, that can mean avg losses of well over $100k per hour. No recreational player will sustain that for long. The simplified solution is to give the recreational player enough money back to balance this out. The regs are making money anyway and they simply will not play unless the games are EV+, which is completely understandable as this is their livelihood. In this specific hand f.e. the pros got 90%+ back manually @mobiuspoker In Nosebleeds the rake needs to be set at a level that allows the site to return enough value to the VIP, such that their effective loss rate becomes reasonable and they can enjoy playing for longer, ideally at only a small loss. Obviously, this is much better solved via product features. But until the software fully supports this, it has to be handled manually by the VIP team after the fact. @PhenomPokerApp thanks for the input, but your rake cap does not matter much, if nobody is playing on your site?

Wild situation in a self deal tournament. Two players are all in preflop. Dealer for some reason is shuffling the rest of the deck before the board is run out. What do you do here? Wouldn’t know how to rule I’ve never heard anything like that before.

YouTube (@TeamYouTube) has removed the ability to search by upload date. Removing this basic function will make it impossible to find breaking news from small channels with few viewers. Evidently, force-feeding people "curated" slop is more important than site usability.

@Barry_Carter Way back there was some website. I can't remember what is was called now. Supposed to be a "poker community". People would sign up (by clicking a couple of buttons) for this exact reason. Person who ran it said they vouched for "every member of the community".

@AriEngelPoker @padspoker Recs are generally trying to maximize fun rather than EV. I know when I decide to hop in the 50 player TORSE instead of the huge guarantee NL event it’s because I’m having a blast playing games that don’t spread often and the more social atmosphere

@padspoker Part of the problem that I face in minor league mixed game tournaments is that the best structure when it comes to amateurs losing less is a faster one- yet most amateurs like the super slow ones and don’t mind the fact that they have a lower return. Id guess it’s similar case

BTW let’s just correct one of the biggest poker myths. Mystery bounties are not good for amateurs. The skill gap between pros-> amateurs in mysteries is a lot higher than in traditional vanilla tournaments.
