If you're still not convinced that grub is total garbage software, Fedora has 428 patches to make it usable. Gentoo has 94, NixOS has 92, even Debian has 69. Even dysfunctional distros patch Grub. Arch has 8 patches (3 .patch, 2 reverts, 3 sed edits). Guix has 19(2 are .patch files), and it's The GNU Distro. Grub is not good software. Please stop using it.

@MKBHD There is something else that these youtubers seem to miss and that is the 10a finally switched to the newer Exynos 5400 modem (from the older 5300 which had tons of issues). That being said I am not defending this phone, 10a is what 9a should have been from the get go...

I don't understand how linux users are still ok with the state of debian-based distros in 2023. You still have to use PPAs which have 0 transparency and can break and also apt which will just leave half-installed files if it fails to install a package...

I’m going to be at basedcon.com again this year. I had read books from and twitter-interacted with three of the authors (more since!), but I wasn’t sure what to expect last year. It turned out fun, in a grass-roots con way that reminded me of the old Space Access days.

Replacing everything just means that even people who have worked on source have suddenly now to learn how s&box does things since they replaced a bunch of shit... now also relying on Garry's QA testing over the QA Valve have done for years.

@phys_ballsocket Only recently I learned that s&box works like robox where you have to use gamemodes and cannot longer just install a bunch of mods and fuck around in sandbox... It's horrible. Not entirely sure why Garry is so stuck on making a Roblox clone...

I agree: When I inquired about licensing Source 2, I got told to "talk to Facepunch about using s&box." As much as I love some of my friends that work on s&box, it absolutely is not a valid replacement for a Source 2 SDK.

@BbqDeveloper @phys_ballsocket Garry couldn't deliver Rust on Linux and not even do the bare minimum and get EAC running under proton so Rust could at least be playable under Proton. It's been months at this point since he promised he would get EAC working. I have 0 confidence.
