Do we still teach students about ethics in research/science?? Seems like something that should be a requirement in every science program…If you haven’t previously seen/read “On Being a Scientist” (The National Academies Press, doi.org/10.17226/12192 ) it’s a great resource.

I mean, come on! Isn’t it enough that we chemists draw the ire of so many doctors who had to survive organic chemistry? Now the astrophysicists are after us??? 🤣🤣🤣 /3

The value of graduate and postdoc scholarships in Canada has finally been updated for inflation. 27k for MSc, 40k for PhD, 70 k for postdoc. Good news!

Yesterday #maingroup chemistry was on full display at the @bruker-@MIT ⁩symposium! Excellent talks by ⁦@organomimetic⁩, ⁦@tbaumlab⁩, Jane, and ⁦@chitnislab⁩! It was also great to see students and faculty from nearly all of the Boston area schools.

“Celebrity academics” - Why is this a thing?!? I get the part about educating the public about academia and esp. about science. But the glitz and glamour and tabloids bit? Not so much. It’s gross. Do not condone.
