A very sad, but extremely fond farewell to the unforgettable Bud Cort, a welcome and magnetic presence in every film lucky enough to have him, not least the co-lead in, arguably, the cult film to rule them all; 1971’s ‘Harold And Maude’. Not only is this beloved film a pitch perfect black comedy-cum-love story for the ages, but Bud Cort delivers one of the greatest looks to camera in film. He was always fun to watch in any part big or small, some other films of his I enjoyed include 'M*A*S*H', ‘Brewster McCloud’, ‘Gas-s-s-s’, ‘Invaders from Mars’, ‘The Chocolate War’, ‘Heat’, ‘Dogma’ and ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou’ among many others that I implore you to list below. And if you haven’t seen ‘Harold And Maude’, rectify this tonight. Keep breaking that fourth wall, Bud. We’ll miss you x

Hey there. As you probably know, I believe in and am an avid collector of physical media. I’m glad I still get to make extras-packed discs for my films, and so I’m excited to release ‘The Running Man’ next month on Blu-Ray and Steel-book next month. It’s available on 3rd March in the US and 2nd March in the UK. To promote the Blu-Ray release, I am going to do a couple of final screenings of ‘The Running Man’ and signings in a few cities. So look out here for upcoming events, there’s one in LOS ANGELES, two in LONDON, and one in (yes!) GLASGOW, home of many a night shoot on this film. Sam Raimi was literally the man who made me pick up a camera and try to make movies*. He’s been a hero since I was 14. So for him to say this blows me away. (*Shoutout to the September 1988 episode on Sam Raimi from Channel 4’s ‘Incredibly Strange Film Show’ (hosted by @wossy) which was the true light bulb moment. So inspiring.)

Catherine’s knowledge of humanity was always at the center of her comedy, no matter how absurd the character or loopy the material. She could play heartless because she was warm, brainless because she was brilliant, careless because she truly cared. Everyone loved her and everyone learned from her. This is a deep loss.
