I’ve been ill at home for a year. Have watched Sink the Bismarck, Dam Busters and Cruel Sea about 20 times each. Oh, and in 1975 I was invited to be the photographer on an Army officer’s battlefield tour on the Battle of the Bulge. Everyone got a copy of an extensive guide including maps. Had a great week being coached around the battlefield. A wonderful time.

It’s next to a ditch which is normally overgrown. Why not build the path over the top and put a pipe in

Is it me, or has the new path on Tye Lane taken away a significant amount of carriageway? So making a narrow road even more narrower?!? @WBFNDP

Terrible loss.
Both Labour and Tories have shown how little they value farming and the countryside.
The SDP would re-establish land-based colleges and invest in apprenticeships and mentoring schemes to aid access to farming, forestry, horticulture and other rural careers.

Pulborough Heath, near Billingsurst in Sussex … what’s left of Brinsbury, West Sussex College of Agriculture being carved up and sold off. Although minds are focused currently on last week’s damning Budget and its open assault on farming, Labour has a good deal of previous form on this. Blair’s New Labour aimed to destroy the very basis by which the culture, community and human capital of the countryside was renewed and maintained from generation to generation by purposely undermining its specialist education and training facilities. Land Based Colleges (LBCs) were once world class centres of excellence all of which identified very purposely with their local areas and communities. Indeed, as identifiably unique as the rural-County areas they were set up to serve. New Labour set in motion the assiduous rot aimed at diminishing and finishing these once proud institutions and the Conservatives chose to ignore it. The progressive Left excels in the dark arts of identity assassination - Colleges were encouraged or forced to drop the word ‘Agriculture’ from their names; modernity considered this a tainted and backward term. Today the precious and irreplaceable assets of LBCs are sold to the highest bidder - often to developers, hungry for easy gain, emboldened by this Labour government’s desire to concrete over the countryside. Only the #SDP has recognised the critical importance of LBCs to a vibrant, confident working countryside. It is stated SDP policy to reinstate and reinvigorate LBCs to their former status: regionally pre-eminent and critical to the countryside as local rural business development hubs. Myth - West Sussex roads are in worse condition than elsewhere.
Fact - The poor condition of roads is a national problem.
Roads are not permanent structures, they deteriorate over time, but we are working hard & investing to improve them.

@WSCCNews The repairs done, no matter how good, are not sustainable....many road surfaces are now just breaking down through age...and some repaired surfaces are so uneven, they're dangerous to cyclists...
...with the added weight of electric vehicles...the problem will only get worse...
