"If I can get job security & decent pay for my members I couldn't give two hoots about being unpopular."

Birmingham bin drivers, employed by the Job & Talent employment agency, have been subjected to the ‘bullying tactic’ of having their driving ‘performances’ publicly ranked in a league table posted on their staff room wall.
“The way these workers are being treated is disgraceful and Unite will provide maximum support in helping them ensure they are treated with the respect they deserve.” @UniteSharonunitetheunion.org/news-events/ne…
PUBLIC OWNERSHIP NOW | 🚰
Today’s half a billion-pound profits in just six months for privatised water company @unitedutilities is yet more evidence that our #energy and water systems are broken.
With overseas shareholders set to receive a record dividend, this is profiteering at the expense of consumers, pure and simple.
@unitetheunion will continue its campaign to see water brought back into public ownership so profits can be reinvested in vital infrastructure instead of paying millions to management executives and lining the pockets of American hedge funds.
Why are liberals defending the BBC? The BBC has a long history of perverting the truth. Ken Loach explains the history on a Miner’s strike panel with @georgegalloway
🚨 Unite demands:

🚨 @unitetheunion utterly condemns the unprovoked attack on our members.
The police must use the full force of the law to prosecute those responsible.
This incident will not deter our members in continuing with their lawful industrial action. ⤵️
😰After 23 years of loyal service and after a personal tragedy, Adrian's employer @BhamCityCouncil told him to take a £6,000 pay cut or be made redundant.
Shame on you Birmingham council! 😠

Doors have only just opened at @unitetheunion Policy Conference 2025 in #Brighton and people are already queueing up to pledge their support for the #BrumBinStrike.
If you're there, come and find us!
A delegation from Unite’s Energy & Utilities NISC visited the Perry Bar depot picket this morning. Our message was clear: Solidarity with the Birmingham Bin Workers! Shame on Birmingham City Council for refusing to negotiate. Workers deserve fair pay, dignity, and respect—not stonewalling. #BirminghamBinWorkers
Birmingham’s bin workers have been on strike for 6 months against £8,000 pay cuts.
In that time, Birmingham City Council’s leader, John Cotton, hasn’t attended ANY negotiations.
Please share and tell us what you think of @BrumLeader’s refusal to personally negotiate 🙏
This BBC article disappointingly fails to mention a couple of key points about this week's community End The Bin Strike meeting:
1⃣ Councillors boycotted the meeting, but striking workers attended to speak to frustrated residents - if you know you're in the right, no need to hide
2⃣ Crucially, there was unanimous agreement in the meeting that cuts of £8,000 and more to bin worker pay are unacceptable
Of course the #Birmingham community wants the #BrumBinStrike to end, but people are overwhelmingly supportive of the strikers demands.
