Islam doesn't place any financial obligation on the woman in marriage. This is not arguable. However, whoever coined the phrase, "my money is my money, his money is our money," did Muslim women a major disservice. Many Muslimaat take the statement to the depths of their hearts

Dear Afrinvest, In light of the ongoing concerns regarding the unauthorized purchase of shares on behalf of clients, followed by the communication sent to justify this action, the Investors’ Parliament at @greentickertale Space would like to invite you to present your side of the story on Sunday the 29th of March 2026. We are particularly interested in hearing about the steps your organization is taking to address affected customers and to restore confidence in your services. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated, as our goal is to resolve this issue amicably and constructively. Kind regards, @greentickertale

I love the look on people’s faces when they realise they must adopt a “boring” routine to achieve their fantastic ambitions.

@YusufAsunmogejo Everything I think about this issue I'm reminded of this verse for those that fear of poverty. And Allah knows best. Just my two cents

@YusufAsunmogejo There's no use for hardship if it can be avoided for collective interest. Your daughter getting married the halal way is a plus for you and the same for your son.. Everything I have said is assuming we all place our trust in each other and be fair in all our actions.

I think the Yoruba culture is wired to some very rigid standards when it comes to preparing a girl child for marriage. In a typical Yoruba house, there is this unwritten rule that a girl must graduate from the university before she even thinks of marriage. To many parents, she can have a boyfriend on campus. They can engage in all forms of immorality, and as long as it does not lead to pregnancy, the parents are fine. Some even raise the bar to a Master's degree, hoping it raises her status for a better spouse. While wanting the best for your child is good, I do not think they pay enough attention to the biological and sexual needs of the girl child. A lady of 21, 22, or 23 is fully grown. Even some as early as 19 and 20 suffer in silence from high libidos. They have real human needs. But the path to make this halal has been made incredibly hard by their own parents, just to satisfy societal norms. When I was a student at the university, what you would hear students do off-campus would shock you. You see undergraduates practically living together as husband and wife in off-campus apartments. It is not because they are inherently irresponsible. It is because they dare not go home and tell their parents they are ready for marriage. If a 22-year-old girl goes home to say she has found a good practicing brother and wants to marry, the parents will look at her from a wayward perspective. They will ask her if she went to school to study books or study men. So, instead of a halal Nikkah, the parents force them to "date" for 3 or 4 years until she finishes NYSC. And when you close the halal and right way, Shaitan opens the haram way wide. People then engage in total immorality all in the name of a relationship. I can't fully blame the parents though. I have seen cases where husbands get a young girl, then renege on their promises to let her finish school. Some mistreat the girl because she is young and not financially independent. That fear is very valid. These bad experiences are what cause the heavy restraint many parents have. They want to ensure she is fully ready, educated, and socially appropriate before giving her out so she does not become a victim. But I still ask, what really defines when a lady is ready for marriage? Should it be based on her personal, emotional, and sexual needs, or should parents continue to set rigid societal standards regardless of the child’s struggles? Let me hear your thoughts on this.

Highly intelligent outlier men require spirituality to ground their souls and to prevent corrosion. I don't mean the performative kind, but a deep, holistically scrutinised spiritual anchor in the divine, acting as the conduit for ongoing spiritual integration, no matter the form it takes. For the weight of fierce intelligence and ferocious wisdom carries immense soul debt, born from the suffering such insight demands. When this anchoring does not occur, that soul debt is often externalised as hatred or indifference, regardless of the chosen vector.

We spend more than 90% of our time inside, so why do we design so many of our interiors like this? Grey carpets, white walls, harsh lighting. It's generic, boring, and genuinely bad for our physical and psychological health...
