If MGNREGS was truly implemented effectively during your tenure, why did rural infrastructure and sustainable development fail to reflect the massive expenditure you now claim? Where did that money go?
After Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister @PawanKalyan garu assumed charge of Panchayati Raj & Rural Development minister, the NDA Government initiated systemic reforms to dismantle irregularities that had weakened implementation over the previous five years. Today, every rupee released by the Government of India is monitored, accounted for, and reaches genuine workers.
During your administration, inflated labour records, questionable muster rolls, and intermediary driven practices became routine allegations across districts. The present government has introduced digital attendance and facial recognition systems to ensure wages are paid only to those who actually work ,restoring transparency and credibility to the programme.
You frequently quote expenditure figures and person-days generated. The people of Andhra Pradesh deserve a clearer answer:
How many durable assets, roads, irrigation works, or productive rural infrastructure were created proportional to those thousands of crores spent?
Under the current administration, initiatives like Palle Panduga have translated MGNREGS funds into visible grassroots assets, rural roads, farm ponds, cattle sheds, water structures, and horticulture works - strengthening both employment and rural productivity simultaneously.
As part of the transition from MGNREGA to the newly introduced Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (VB-GRAMG), policy changes during the financial year 2025–26 have resulted reduction in work generation.
However, despite this transition, there has been no slowdown in development, and works have been executed at a rapid pace.
Comparing this report with the inflated and manipulated figures from your tenure and attempting to criticize the present government is misleading and lacks credibility.
Recently, the Government of India released ₹1,805.24 crore to Andhra Pradesh under MGNREGS, reaffirming confidence in the State’s present implementation and accountability mechanisms.
While @ysjagan continues to raise political accusations, the NDA Government is focused on governance through transparency, development, and measurable outcomes.
If there are genuine concerns, we welcome a comprehensive discussion on MGNREGS performance in the Assembly.
Please let the people know when you intend to attend the Assembly - the House has been waiting to hear facts instead of press conference/tweet monologues.

𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 From the perspective of Rural economy, effective implementation of the MGNREGA is of vital importance. This programme enhances disposable incomes in rural sections who have highest marginal propensity to consume, thereby supporting Rural consumption. Historically, Andhra Pradesh (AP) has been considered one of the best-performing states in MGNREGA implementation. Over the last two years of the TDP alliance Government, we have witnessed the State lagging on this front. On almost all parameters, such as Approved labour budget, Total Households worked and Expenditure and so forth, the performance signals contraction over last two years. This is also evident from low GST and Sales tax growth during the last two years, clearly indicating lower purchasing power and consequently lower demand. The TDP alliance Government is too preoccupied with indulging in corruption driven by unquenchable thirst for wealth and does not have the bandwidth to focus on the problems confronting the people of the State.
