Asked on @BBCpolitics about how we’re helping with cost of living: our fuel duty cut kicks in today, then the national insurance cut for 70% workers. We’re putting billions of pounds back in peoples pockets AND helping people in hard times. #SpringStatement
@SirRogerGale …and help for pensioners? Cynical disregard for these vulnerable people. Messrs. Johnson, Sunak et all will deservedly pay at the next election.
A Spring statement to address the cost of living increases. The fuel duty cut will help everyone- not just those with cars. And raising the National Insurance threshold by £3,000 will exempt thousands of those on the lowest incomes from the NI increase. 1/2
@mrdanwalker That’s about 8p a day for the services I do use and 35p for those I never use. Even the ones I use are often not fit for purpose, although a few are amazing!

My beautiful boy got called ‘f’ing ugly’ in the street today by some prat passing by with his mates. Humans are weird. He’s a dog mate. Therefore can’t answer back. He’s not ugly. But you just definitely made yourself look properly stupid. Complete doughnut. Jog on.
I feel near tears after doing my show. I started doing what I do out of a passion for financial justice & providing solutions. To be unable to help a single mum who lost her partner in covid afford her energy bills leaves me feeling impotent. I'm shaking
Intervention is needed
@NeilBakerTweets@Major_Eazy@canterburycc It’s the same at Bishopstone lane car park (soon to charge). Ocean View car Park at Beltinge (charging). Reculver (charging). Thorndon Wood Road (charging). I feel particularly for dog walkers, a lot of them elderly, who can’t afford it every day.
@Major_Eazy@canterburycc I've sent in my thoughts (which are in opposition) on the basis it will have a negative impact on enforcement where it is currently needed by forcing officers to trek out to Faversham Road instead of where residents want them, thereby running counter to the CCC Corporate Plan
#Whitstable residents please object (+1day left) to @canterburycc proposal to charge for parking along the seawall at seasalter #faversham road. During lockdown it was the only place to go to walk and escape the crowds on more local beaches.please RT
Is it me ? Hate to see dog owners on bicycles ( without a helmet ) charging along with a panting dog on a lead - not fair on the hound - it can’t stop - sniff or pee etc either
I'm very confused about toppling statues...
The Greeks, whose civilisation has long been admired in the West, believed that in the Ancient World, a cultured society was only possible if it was based on slavery
So should we be getting rid of statues of Socrates and Aristotle ?
Similarly, the Romans enslaved the British for 400 years.
So are we due reparations from the Italians ?
And Sir Isaac Newton was a shareholder in the South Sea Company, which included slave trading among its activities
What do we do about his statues ?
It's rather complicated
Sad to have just received this letter.
I will not be silenced by @UKLabour MPs who continue to dismiss the contributions of those who don't conform to their view of how ethnic minorities should behave.
