@WidowerD

I lost my wife and best friend to bowel cancer in May 2020. I'm now emerging with my 2 incredible daughters from the fog of greif.

@mshizzle05 Not an expert in these things, but they are probably watching that pitch count as he's still so new. Besides, the game is as safe as one CAN be (a collapse now would be epic), so why risk an injury?

@WidowerD @kerrieAgray Hey, sorry this has happened. Please ensure you have just 1 tab open, clear your cache/cookies and refresh and try again opting for an alternative date. If you have 4G/5G rather than connecting to WIFI we'd also recommend using this instead. Thanks ^P

@denkyd8nk Back in 2013, my younger brother, who was far less jaded than he is now, was texting me round 2 scenarios for the Leafs while leading 4-1 in Gm 7 against Boston. I still keep those messages to constantly remind me that no lead is ever safe... ever. (Incuding series leads! 😬)

Until last year, we'd always have Xmas Dinner at Rachel's mum's. But for the first time, while I also coped with mine & the girl's #grief, she opted to go away instead. I HAD to make everything special. I was so proud of it all, we did it again this year! #Widowhood #Traditions

My eldest, a bassist, played her 4th gig at @RoughTradeNotts. The first was just before Covid, and her mum was able to come straight from Chemo to watch. I have a new partner now, also a widow, who's late husband played bass. This time, my daughter used his guitar! #widowlife

@widow_waiting The insomnia. I felt like I'd never sleep normally again. Then I met other widows and discovered that so many of us have this symptom of grief. Having widowed friends has its perks! There are usually a few awake and any given moment desperate for a distraction.

@widow_waiting Grief's a funny 'ol thing. I can only relay my own experience. You'll face your own unique version of it. Mine started slowly, growing as the reality of loss dawned. Then, over time it seems to disapate, before hitting you again like a tidal wave. Ive learnt to find comfort in it

It was my wife's birthday last week. It was her 3rd since she died. The girls and I have arrived at something approaching a tradition. A night in, with a film (always Megamind 😆), her favourite Chinese delivery, and lots of photos and fond memories #griefjourney #PositiveWidower

Baby has fallen asleep on our bed while I catch up on messages. I couldn’t resist taking a pic. I just turned around to show my husband. He would’ve loved it. The proudest of daddies. My heart breaks again. And again. And again. #FuckCancer #WidowedYoung #Grief

Thought it was a really nice touch for Gerard to bring out a flag with all of the fans who were meant to be in attendance for the Milton Keynes shows who we sadly lost in the pandemic. #MCRMK

Being open and honest about what was coming made the transition much smoother for my 2 girls. Of course there is pain and greif, even regret, but having already established a dialogue around these feelings made them much easier to continue talking about after death.

So here's a turn up; something that's floored me. I don't talk much about my kids reactions, because that's their story, not mine. But my son has volunteered this and wanted me to share it with you. dyingwell.uk/son
