The Daily Mail have so much concern about immigrants changing local culture that they’ve literally anglicised Maitiu Mág Tighearnán’s name in their news reports. These reporters, Séamus Ó Fitcheallaigh and Pádraig Ó hArrachtáin, should use his actual name

No disrespect, but you dont really know what you're talking about here. My paternal grandfather was amongst the founding members of the provisionals, himself having fought for the IRA in the 30s and 50s. Each one of his four sons, and 6 daughters joined the IRA after him. The organisation they joined, fought for, and went to jail as members of, was the same one he helped reorganise in the late 60s. Too many of you read a few wikipedia articles and think you all have it figured out. You don't. It isnt all black and white.

@sevatarion333 No socialist republican identifies with the Official line. It’s also disingenuous to attribute the cause of the split primarily to a leftward drift. More pertinent was the stickies’ abandonment of the armed campaign. Costello left the officials though he remained a communist. (1)

A 72 year old man was savaged stabbed to death in his home in Dungannon last year. There was no rampaging gangs "protecting their communities". Guess why? Because the victim was polish and the murderer was a "local" man. These aren't concerned citizens they're racists.

1 in 20 Catholic families were burned out of their homes in Belfast in 1969. As one scholar put it, at the time it was "the largest forced population movement in Western Europe since the Second World War."
