The biennial resolution on “Prevention of Genocide”, tabled by #Armenia🇦🇲 at #HRC61, has been unanimously adopted! It addresses challenges such as misuse of algorithmic systems & AI, & calls for integration of prevention as system-wide, cross-pillar priority in context of #UN80.

📞 On March 27 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of #Armenia @AraratMirzoyan had a phone call with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of #Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov. The Ministers noted with satisfaction the positive developments in further normalisation process between Armenia & Azerbaijan. Ararat Mirzoyan & Jeyhun Bayramov also discussed regional issues & engagements within multilateral platforms.

In these days of remembrance of the victims of the 1988 #Sumgait massacres orchestrated by Azerbaijani SSR forces, we honor the memory of hundreds of Armenians who were killed. Around half a million were forcibly displaced. 🕯️Remembrance is not only about reflecting on the past. It is a reaffirmation of our shared responsibility to uphold human rights, reject hatred & hate speech in all its forms, while working steadfastly toward reconciliation & lasting peace.

These days we commemorate 36 years since the anti-Armenian violence in Baku in Azerbaijani SSR. We honor the memory of the victims. As we have embarked on the path of peace, we emphasize that the unequivocal rejection of such actions, coupled with genuine reconciliation & a commitment to lasting peace in the South Caucasus, can ensure that such tragedies will never be repeated.

Today in Washington together w/@SecRubio, we adopted #TRIPP Implementation Framework – an important step towards realization of Peace Summit agreements of August 8, aimed at advancing regional connectivity, unlocking economic benefits & contributing to lasting peace & prosperity.
