I purchased an AC from Amazon where the product image clearly displayed a “Free Installation” label.
However, when the installation engineer arrived at my home, he demanded ₹1500 for installation. If the installation was advertised as free, then why are customers being asked to pay extra charges later?
This is extremely concerning. Displaying “Free Installation” on product images and then charging customers afterward looks like misleading advertising and unfair trade practice.
When I contacted customer support, instead of resolving the issue, they simply said “you should have read the manual.” If there were charges mentioned somewhere else, then why was “Free Installation” prominently shown on the product image?
Customers should not be misled just to increase sales numbers. Transparency and honesty in online marketplaces are essential.
I request the concerned authorities to look into this matter.
