When most people talk about privacy, they usually mean one thing: locking data away. But real privacy isn’t just about hiding information. It’s about being able to use it without exposing it. That distinction is what pulled me into a late night deep dive recently and one project kept resurfacing for the right reasons. @fhenix Instead of building privacy around blockchains, Fhenix builds it into the computation itself. Fhenix is a confidential blockchain powered by fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) meaning data stays encrypted even while smart contracts are running.

Heated argument between a lady and an APC supporter: Lady: “If that viral video of a woman carrying her de@d son on were your family member on the recent att@ck in Jos, would you not have a problem with this government?” APC supporter: “If your Messiah Peter Obi is following the likes of Kwankwaso, Amaechi, Atiku, and Malami, and you’re still passionately cry!ng for a change in Nigeria... Lady: “Nobody cares about Tinubu. We just want law and order in the country. We want a working country where people can be safe and not lose their lives daily. You can’t travel by road because it’s not safe, and you can’t travel by air because the common man cannot afford it. No light, no security, no amenities.”

Now this is how to get your money back from a debtor. Your money is your money. Under Nigerian law, owing money is a civil matter, not a criminal offence, so the police cannot help you arrest the debtor just because the person owes you money. The proper way is through the civil court. First, you must demand for your money formally. This is usually done by writing a Letter of Demand through a lawyer, stating the amount owed, how the debt arose, and giving the debtor a specific time (usually 7–14 days) to pay. Many debtors pay at this stage once they see a lawyer’s letter. If the debtor refuses to pay, the next step is to file a civil action in court. The appropriate court depends on the amount of money: Small amounts → Magistrate Court Large amounts → High Court You will sue the debtor for: 1. The money owed 2. Interest on the money 3. Cost of the lawsuit Under Nigerian civil procedure, once you file the case, the court will serve the debtor with court papers. If the debtor does not respond, the court may give default judgment against the debtor. After you win the case, the court will issue judgment, but judgment alone is not enough. If the debtor still refuses to pay, you will enforce the judgment through any of these methods: 1. Garnishee Proceedings If you know the debtor’s bank, the court can order the bank to remove the money from the debtor’s account and pay you directly. 2. Writ of Execution (Seizure of Property) The court bailiff can seize the debtor’s property (car, electronics, etc.) and sell them to pay your debt. 3. Judgment Summons The debtor can be summoned to court and required to explain why they have not paid the judgment debt. These enforcement procedures are provided for under the Sheriffs and Civil Process Act, which governs how court judgments are enforced in Nigeria. So in summary, the legal steps are: 1. Letter of Demand 2. File civil case in court 3. Obtain judgment 4. Enforce judgment (garnishee, seizure, etc.) That is the lawful way to recover debt in Nigeria.

READ again and Repost 👇 You are owing someone money and the person brought Police to arrest you, this is what you should do. At first, the police have no legal authority to arrest you for a simple debt, as it is a civil matter and not a criminal offense. According to the Police Act 2020 and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), the police are strictly prohibited from interfering in civil disputes or acting as debt collectors Meaning that, the Police officer the person brought to arrest you, is on illegal duty and is on a mission to perform illegal arrest. So at this point. 1. Ask the Police officer for his ID and take note of his name 2. Calmly tell the officer it's a civil matter 3. If the officer insist on arresting you, don't resist the arrest. Follow him 4. If they ask you to sign any undertaking of when you will pay back, sign it That undertaking is not enforceable anywhere, so no fear at all Once you are out File a suit against the person you owe and the Police Officer for breach of your fundamental human right and illegal arrest with unlawful detention In the suit, demand for damages of 50 Million Naira Ignorance of the law is no excuse © The people's parliament
