@bluesquidmagpie @IsThisA3DModel As I just said in my other comment. The patronage never bothered me, didn't with Meta, Nvidia or any of the others. I've followed the Blender development stuff near daily since the 2.5 beta days. I know the guys in charge have their hearts in the right place.

@bazildesigns @IsThisA3DModel Ok having read it I would ask what your stance is on Adobe, Meta, Nvidia, Google, Qualcomm and more all who also have strong connections to AI either through LLM creation or its use, all are supporting Blender, since Anthropic was the last straw should they be throw out as well?

@bluesquidmagpie @IsThisA3DModel That is what seems to be suggested, but it's not black and white, so please take it with a pinch of salt. It's never something that'a worried me and despite my criticism of the excitement around the Claude integration. I was supportive of the patronage

@bluesquidmagpie @IsThisA3DModel I've seen many corporate patrons exist for only a single year, and no one is stopping them donating again in the future.
And the reason I said they have a say, is because they do, but very little. It's explained in the corporate membership doc below.

They could have locked in the money with them being donors, now its potentially not going to happen again. And why did you think Anthropic would have a say where the money isspent

@bluesquidmagpie @IsThisA3DModel Please stop parroting that Blender is losing 250k, because that's plain wrong, they have decided to accept the money as a donation rather than a patronage, this strips Anthropic of any control of where the money is spent, but allows Blender to still receive the money.

That awkward moment when all the AI bros are celebrating, saying 3d is getting easier, when the example shows someone writing a whole sentence, waiting for it to load, to do something that's a single hotkey (Ctrl L) 🙄

@OK_ULTRA_ I like some of the examples, like being able to autocorrect node names across the whole file, that's helpful for dyslexic artists. But ultimately. It's just the python API in another wrapper, with all the same lack of vision based limitations

@OK_ULTRA_ Exactly, to see some actually more useful, well thought out examples, you only have to look at the Blender MCP page, which is the reason why Claude can interact with blender now.

I need a video player that can:
- PAN/ZOOM independent of the window ratio.
- Hide the UI and always on top features too.
VLC is great but lacks a decent pan and zoom features.
I'm trying to make a study setup to avoid distractions and I need those.
