Good morning, so yesterday I was watching a preacher teach a message about faith and trusting God will over our will. The preacher spoke on something I was unfamiliar with, such as the people chose Saul as king and God gave them what they wanted. Which lead me to read this scripture and wow! So, they wanted a king because they wanted to be like other nations. Talk about being envious of what others have so much that you forget you have the most important person on your side. God even tried to stop them by giving them warnings and they still turned to man over God. Not to make this message long but this reminds me of constantly praying for our wants after God has given us warning this is not what we need but like God did the people he will eventually give it to us. Once it doesn’t go as planned we cry and ask God to help us. God will help us because he loves us but he will allow us to go through it and when God doesn’t save us how we want then we have the nerve to doubt God. The job we beg for, the vehicle, the relationship, etc…. We can all relate, so after reading this we should say thank you for what we have and be thankful for we don’t have even if we want it.(read all of chapter 8 to see what God told Samuel to tell the people) 1SAMUEL8:1-9
