"This will never happen to me." Famous last words before I lost nearly $100K worth of tokens 🥲 Last Friday, I got socially engineered and hacked. Live. On a “partnership call,” while looking the attacker in the eye. All it takes is one slip, one moment where your guard’s down, and suddenly all those habits, rules, and security measures you swear by mean nothing. My security catechism is simple: - I don’t click random links. - I don’t engage with unsolicited DMs. - I don’t "talk to strangers" unless they come through someone I trust. This one ticked all the right boxes. They came referred. We had been chatting for weeks. Calm, patient, nothing pushy. Absolute professionals at building trust slowly. Physically, I’m fine. Digitally, it was carnage. After a few weeks of chatting on Telegram (which gave me time to do my due diligence), we finally jumped on MY Google Meet. My link, booked through MY Calendly. The guy I’d been talking to joined with video on. He was relaxed, friendly, smooth. We introduced ourselves, exchanged intros about our companies. He knew the market. He understood the space. There was even a bit of casual banter while we “waited for his colleagues.” They were supposedly in China, something I already knew. So when he said, ten minutes in, that they were having VPN issues joining my link and asked if I could hop on theirs, it didn’t feel off. I’d seen that happen before. It was Friday. Last call of the day. I gave the link a quick glance. It looked like a standard VooV Meeting format. I’d used plenty of those before with other Chinese partners. I clicked. Nothing opened. That’s when I knew. I slammed the Wi-Fi off immediately, but it was too late. Even though less than five seconds had passed since the click, the nightmare had already begun. A notification flashed on my phone: my wallet was selling. While I was trying to fight that fire, a message came in from a friend a few minutes later. “Dude, are you DMing me on X for a partnership? Is that really you?” Everything went black for a second. They had jacked my active sessions. All the security measures, the 2FAs, everything was rendered useless. What followed was 72 hours of pure cleanup and investigation. I could trace the digital blood trail of my tokens: they were swapped on Jupiter aggregator, bridged to ETH on Wormhole, and finally vanished into Railgun. Since then, I’ve reported all wallet activity to Chainabuse and Chainalysis. I also filed a report with my local authorities, sharing every detail like Telegram handles and phone numbers. I know it's impossible to retrieve anything, but I hope the info helps in any larger, ongoing investigation. The lesson? The real threat isn’t always the rushed pitch or the shady DM from a stranger. It can also be the slow burn. The human face. The referral chain you’ve been taught to trust. Sometimes, the most dangerous exploit isn't in the code. It’s the fact you were looking someone in the eye. If you got a message from “me,” I’m sorry. I hope the only thing you lost was a bit of respect for my opsec 🫠 Stay safe out there. Social engineering is real, and it hits fast and hard.

#quotidien

Just got back home after 5 weeks working remotely in Malaysia and Thailand. Still made $2.5K in sales and landed 20 new clients. Would I have been more productive if I stayed home? Here's the honest take on remote work while traveling. The pros, the cons, and the tips that helped me stay focused. First, a bit of context: I was doing light work in the morning with laptop from coffee (emails, support, tweets, content) And deep work the afternoon and at night with double screen (product, sales) Pros: - traveling the world with my gf while hustling feels like a blessing - no social distractions: no meetings or friends, so more focus - it's inspiring, relaxing, so i was getting more creative - breaks with routine and felt more energized Cons - constant FOMO between exploring and hustling - wifi sometimes drops for 30 min/day on the island; not ideal for calls - takes hours/days to set up a routine in new places - you loose time traveling would have I been more productive if I stayed home? Not even sure did the travel made me happier and fulfilled? Definitely My best advice: - buy a portable monitor to always get double screen in hotels/airbnb - ensure your room or apartment has a desk and is quiet for optimal work conditions - get solid 4G or 5G - get a sleeveless shirt for the vibe

Rumors are swirling that @TiffanyFong_ is pregnant… While she has denied the rumors, there is ongoing speculation she may be secretly dating Kanye West or Elon Musk. Do you think a baby is coming soon?

What's ChatGPT's actual prompt when you're asking it to transform a photo into Ghibli style? Check it out 👇 Not sure how or why but I did ask ChatGPT to transform one of my photos and he did return a long prompt along with it.
