@KINGS1973 Out of curiosity, the inside rounds 168 (3) were below 90% trimmings price. Could some of that start going to grinds potentially?

Some thoughts on today cutout “ blow up”. My gut tells me that no Packer HAD to do this. It was a strategic decision to get some sales on the books prior to ramping up production. Somebody did this because they thought it would be good for them not because they had to.

@koinzangreg Probably needs someone to drop out of the race against him, but 48% for a Trump endorsement incumbent is not good at all

@ckleene @KINGS1973 Rib forward sales looked good this week and sold off a ton post Super Bowl. Seeing some good deals on pork shoulder, $0.99 at Kroger the other day.

@KINGS1973 Kinda related but I feel like the beef/pork ratio going to (and is currently) going to get stressed in ways that push more pork into diets. . . We are in and going to remain in uncharted territory.

@Bowtiedplayer Do a poll at Down the Street, I think people would hear Joe Kent and think you’re looking for your buddy.

Most people were watching the Duke-Siena game and don't even know who Joe Kent is There was a crowd of some pretty prescient people from the Trump 2016 era who are now stuck in their own echo chamber You need to talk to some people in real life

@DudeWhoInvests I think it’s demand side, Iran/China crude trade was expected to be done in gold. US disrupting this should be supportive of long term dollar demand if they win the war.

@KINGS1973 Midterms are gonna get really ugly for Republicans……. Especially with gerrymandering reducing margins in safe seats. Anything Trump +10 is probably in play for Dems.

It is incredible to me that these dimwits think that they can bully the rest of the world constantly and then expect their help cleaning up their mess. Leaders lead and real power is implied not used. They have the foresight of a Chihuahua.
Lindsey Graham@LindseyGrahamSC

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

@philadolfian @AltcoinPsycho A version of this is the only sensible approach. Lower taxes on primary residence, increase on secondary and others, depending on number of homes. Companies and LLCs can’t claim primary residence only humans. Will never happen though because it makes too much sense.

@TradesByDave As Gen Z guy, if I had to say the most common vices, it’s probably 1. Gambling 2. Nicotine (specifically in pouches) 3. Alcohol I can’t speak to total spending or usage, but people burn through zyn cans like crazy.

The numbers don't lie. Alcohol consumption among the Generation Z cohort has collapsed. These young people simply don't drink. Instead, they have discovered a much more addictive vice. Online sports gambling has exploded. Robinhood has more Gen Z accounts than any company on the planet. Gen Z has switched from drinking to sports gambling. Much worse than drinking. #Addiction #GenZ

@logicagmarket Bellies are 16% of the carcass. Tough to get more bacon consumption when you’re producing 15 pounds of belly per capita. But I certainly eat more than 20.

A quick search says U.S. bacon consumption averages under 20 pounds per person a year. That feels… light. For the good of morale (and maybe the hog market), we might need to revisit that in 2026. 🥓😉

@USRoute41 @WSJ Yeah, and it gives them a lot more time focus on sports. Pretty much all of them I knew (at least two dozen kids) played a sport at the collegiate level.
