Mormon God is not the same God as Jesus, or the God of the Bible. Their God has flesh and bones. So no, Mormons are not Christians.

This is what you enable and normalize when you say “Mormons aren’t Christians.” Or “Mormonism is a cult.” Or “we love you enough to tell you the truth.” You normalize the otherization of Latter Day Saints and communicate that this behavior is acceptable.

I have so many dear friends that are Mormon. I love them. However, Mormonism is just plain evil and ridiculous. Love the Mormon, hate the Mormon religion.

I know this can be a contentious topic, but I’m genuinely curious. I’ve heard many people say that Catholics and Mormons aren’t considered Christian. While others strongly identify as followers of Christ within those faiths. That raises an important question: What actually defines a Christian? Is it belief in Jesus alone? Specific doctrine? A certain interpretation of the Bible? Where do you stand?

POV: you're a Mormon in New Orleans.... Mr. Thornton recently posted about this video saying, "This happened to me five years ago while I was serving as a missionary in New Orleans. I got a flat tire and pulled over to the sidewalk to fix it. All of a sudden, I was confronted with an angry rant about race and religion. Say what you want about Mormon religion, but they’re good people. I don’t agree with their beliefs but I don’t have to in order to support the individual people. The hatred and harassment is evil.

@MarinaMedvin I agree. The LDS religion sounds like utter nonsense to me, but every Mormon I have ever known has been polite, thoughtful, considerate, kind. I do not understand their beliefs but I will protect their people.

@justin_hart @emuse1955 He brought testimony and first hand accounts yet ignored all the testimony and accounts of the 11+ witnesses who saw the book of mormon, angels, Jesus, Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Peter, James, John and Elias, Elijah and others.

To be honest, it's kinda weak sauce that @emuse1955's debate approach was to dredge up a 200-year-old book with third-hand accounts of an affidavit against Joseph Smith (the sources of which no longer exist)! His "shoot-the-messenger" approach has one big flaw: the Hurlburt affidavits themselves are totally bogus!
