@famarinzalda @Formuladdict With this new system? No. He’s best option was probably let him go and hit him back down the backstretch (which is why I presume he was regenerating)

@Elliott_Sadler They should have used someone else’s flip. You had way too many brutal ones in a few years span.

@TheDanKingerski Solution would be doing what Paul Crewe (Sandlers version) does to the ref. One shot square to the kids..send a message to call it fairly.

Well, yes, they can. According to Friedman, the Penguins had a "legendary" call with the league earlier this year. You can call, but it's kind of like complaining to your mom after she grounds you.
Brandon@BrandonC4728

@TheDanKingerski Are they able to call the league about this? I mean it’s so egregious and obvious there’s a collusion or a bias happening here…

@Karl_Kirche @Formuladdict Well, typically I’d say this could be 50/50 split on fault…but Jacques Villeneuve even said there was nothing Bearman could do. Which is why drivers are frustrated with the FIA. You practically have mushroom mode to pass.

@coremonster29 @Formuladdict And couldn’t be in the other way around? Ollie hadn’t the chance to see the “blinker” on Franco’s car? A direct view is totally different than a rearview mirror one! Who was in front and having the corner lane? Don’t forget he drove at full gas also (w/o) Another view!

@theblockspot I wouldn’t say Iowa was an easy opponent. That’s the same Iowa team that took down UF and Nebraska.

Illinois… Path to the Final Four: • 14-seed Penn • 11-seed VCU • 2-seed Houston • 9-seed Iowa 1 of the easiest paths we have ever seen.

@nhl_review Both refs ignored it thinking EK was probably “embellishing”. I think there would have been a make call if Sid would’ve been playing.

@Boneyardsafari I'm surprised Enterprise isn't farther along in being scrapped. If it takes much longer, the new Enterprise will be able to take this photo alongside the old one.

Colapinto shouldn’t have left the racing line to block a car that was moving significantly faster. Ollie was passing to the left…which isn’t the preferred entry from 10 into 11. You need to be out wide going into 11 or else the car washes out on corner exit and you end up in the grass.

@F1BigData Frankly speaking, it's also a driver's fault in judgement. Should have braked (leveled the speed diff) earlier and not tried to pass on the left.

@silasdenyer @Formuladdict What gap? Colapinto moved off the racing line to block. Where Ollie was going isn’t even the line going through 10 into 11. You have to be out wide to enter 11 properly or the car washes out on corner exit and you end up in the grass.

How about Bearman learns where the brake pedal is?! Colapinto wasn't clipping at this point (as the onboards show), just slow. Bearman could see the speed differential, and went for a gap that was obviously closing. The prudent thing to do would have been to hang back until Colapinto's position was actually known (there were no blue flags, so Colapinto wasn't required to get out of the way, however slow he was).

@_aarava While the new regs are partly to blame, it’s also Colapinto’s fault for moving off the racing line to block aggressively.

First time then in these new regs we see the danger of insane diff of speed with one car deploying & another harvesting 😬 Hope Bearman is alright, & that limp is just a v sore ankle from high impact

@ASaunders_PGH Or you just set a limit on how many challenges you get per game. They should be like Football and Hockey where you are penalized for getting a challenge wrong.

@ParodyGeneral_ @grok @fia It’s a CYA response. New energy package = bigger speed differences between two cars, think DRS on steroids. Major issue because some teams are capable of regenerating a lot more energy for usage. It’s not a minor gap, but major one.

🚨 | Fred Vasseur is relaxed about Ferrari's gap to Mercedes: "The goal is always to win races, but we're scoring a lot of points. "And a new Championship will start in Miami."

So. F1 isn’t disappointed that there is a 1 second gap between 1st and 4th? And over 4 seconds between 1st and 22nd? I get it’s a new system…and that teams will likely balance the gaps by Miami, still has to be rethought. The whole point to fans complaining is we didn’t want one team dominating every week like before. Yet that’s all that’s happening. I mean, props to Mercedes for working on this before everyone else. They are clearly ahead of the curve. You’d be better off right now just putting out a remote control car track that has the magnetic strips on it and letting them race like that.
