Hi everyone! We have some incredible news to share! 10 months ago God asked us to trust Him, sell our home, resign from my job, pull up all the anchors and begin a journey: in that journey we… * Traveled across the USA in an RV for 40 days * Explored New England in the fall for 90 days * Toured around France for 90 days * Adventured across the northwest of Ireland for 60 days We’re now so excited to share that I am starting a job in England in May, and we are moving this week! We are so thankful to everyone for your prayers and support throughout this journey. We have a lot more videos to edit and put together for each chapter of these last 10 months, but we have a video update (below) that shares this major step for our family. Coast to Kingdom - We’re Moving to England - Good News! youtu.be/N7C7QDVSK4A

Hey @howertonjosh! We just worshipped with you and the Lakepointe Family live for the second time to hear the incredible message by @davidnasser (truly one of the most meaningful messages I have ever heard)! We are originally from California and have been traveling in France, Ireland and England for the past year, worshipping with Lakepointe Church online. We found you through Live Free when Charlie Kirk was martyred last year and have been listening ever since. It was a pleasure meeting you this afternoon: you made our 7-year-old son’s month when you shook his hand and took a selfie with him! If you have the photo, he would love to see it! We are moving to England on Monday! We will continue to worship with Lakepointe Church and listen to Live Free while we find a local church community. God has blessed our family through you and the team: we are so thankful.

@CollinRugg Air New Zealand had something very similar to this for awhile — we used it on a direct flight from California to England once (my wife, our 4 year old and me). It was actually pretty incredible!

#Livefree should do a pod where you compare the top 4 AI with respect to accuracy in answering Biblical questions / supporting Biblical research. Would be fascinating to see you ask each the same questions then compare / contrast their answers to your POV, then stack-ranking which ones you recommend / do not recommend. This video served as a good dinner conversation last night for my family about how important it is to be careful where you get your information / what AI gives as advice! @howertonjosh @CarlosErazoGTG @paulmcunningham

Exactly. 20 years ago in the game industry we would have video cards get released with tech demos. They were not games, just live rendering demonstrating what the new tech was capable of (which usually was only fully realized 1-2 years later as games were released that took advantage of the new tech). This is a tech demo. The sophisticated leveraging of the tech is coming (soon).

Unfortunately this is not how things will work out. AI’s breadth and speed of advancement are literally nothing like anything that has ever occurred before. It is not like any displacement to date. Comparing this coming change to the automobile, computer, the internet, the smartphone is missing the mark entirely. Making these comparisons is like saying a flood in a localized region is devastating, but the locals will eventually recover. This is nothing like that: it’s more like a global flood where no land will be spared the rising tide of change. Literally no line of work we do today will be the same when this is done. There won’t be anywhere for workers to be displaced, because no work by humans will be necessary. When AI (digital) and AI-powered robots (physical) can do literally anything better than their human counterparts by an order of magnitude, our contributions will not be valued or appreciated. The original article by Matt Shumer is much closer to what is coming. It’ll start with information / knowledge work and then with sophisticated humanoid robots go for everything else. This isn’t about fear — it’s about inevitability. Humans don’t know when to stop: we push boundaries that shouldn’t be pushed. What we’re about to enter is a tidal wave force where after it hits, nothing will be the same (and only after it is too late will we realize slowly that it was a massive mistake). The real question will be what do humans do for fulfillment in this post-work world. We were designed for work. We need it. A life of pleasure and endless pleasure is meaningless and without purpose. This is a true problem worthy of further consideration.

I believe you are on the right track in terms of what lies ahead. I also strongly agree this will lead to a Great Depression: humans were created for purpose and fulfillment. There will be a huge need to restore this need after the collapse this “utopia” creates. I don’t think we can stop it - we are going to have to work towards a renaissance of purpose.

“Universal high income.” I’m sorry, but that should absolutely terrify you. It terrifies me. I don’t sleep very well because I can’t turn my brain off. Ideas like this are the reason I take trazodone… or I wouldn’t sleep. Our tech leaders are saying the quiet part out loud now, out in public, like it’s a cute little vision board moment. The future they’re building is one where machines do everything, humans get paid to exist, and we all quietly retire into “comfort” like it’s a retirement plan instead of a slow-motion exit ramp from meaning. Humans need purpose. Not vibes. I don’t care how much abundance or money is involved. I need to provide value. Not “content consumption.” Not a permanent allowance. This feels like slipping society into a warm bath… and handing us the pill bottle. I don’t have the perfect solution. But I do know this, I really don’t love the direction this is heading. This is not good for us.

Amazing timing: my daily reading this morning after reading your post was Isaiah 29. Thanks again for sharing! 29:13 'The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught. 29: 14 'Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.” ' Isaiah 29:13-14 bible.com/bible/111/ISA.…

After almost twenty years of sharing the gospel in India, I have lost count of how many of my Hindu friends, relatives, and strangers have said the same thing to me. They admit openly that the idols they bow before are not real gods. They know it. They say it without hesitation. It is spoken almost the way Westerns speak about Santa later in life. Not real, but useful. A noble lie they say. Something cultural. Something emotional. Something passed down. Scripture already told us this would happen. Romans 1:18 to 23 exposes this. It is not ignorance. IT IS SUPPRESSION. The truth about God is known, yet deliberately pushed down. Not because the evidence is lacking, but because acknowledging the true God would demand repentance and surrender. Men do not worship idols because they think stone has life. They worship idols because idols make no moral claims. They ask for rituals, not repentance. They accept offerings, not obedience. They comfort the conscience without confronting the heart. This is why idolatry survives even when belief collapses. It is not faith that keeps it alive. It is fear of the living God. When the true God is removed, something must take His place. And so, men exchange the glory of the incorruptible God for images that demand nothing and change nothing. And this is where we must be honest. This problem does not end outside Christianity. We have done the very same thing within it. Many who call themselves Christians admit something similar, though they use different language. They do not deny Jesus, but they reshape Him. They speak of a Christ who never confronts, never warns, never judges. A Jesus who exists to comfort but never to command. Just as idols are shaped to fit human desire, we have shaped our own version of Christ. A Jesus who affirms our choices, blesses our plans, and never speaks of repentance. A Jesus who saves without lordship and loves without holiness. Scripture warns us about this. Paul says there will come a time when people will not endure sound teaching but will gather teachers to suit their own passions in 2 Timothy 4:3. That is not paganism entering the church. That is idolatry wearing Christian language. Even superstition has found a place among us. Crosses are treated like charms, verses are repeated like spells, prayer is reduced to technique, and worship is shaped more by atmosphere than by truth. We anoint everything with oil as though the bottle holds power, sprinkle water as though holiness can be transferred by touch, and chase methods instead of repentance. Faith is measured by outcomes rather than obedience, by results rather than surrender. What was meant to draw us to Christ has been turned into ritual without reverence, practice without truth, religion without the fear of God. And in doing so, we unknowingly replace living faith with sacred habits that demand nothing from the heart. This is not far from what Romans 1 describes. It is still an exchange. Not of stone this time, but of truth. We exchange the real Christ for a manageable one. A Jesus who asks for admiration but not surrender. The tragedy is not that people reject Christ openly. It is that many worship a version of Him that does not exist. And a false Christ cannot save, no matter how sincerely He is spoken about. The living God cannot be edited. He is not a symbol. He is not an idea. He is not safe. And until He is known as He truly is, even Christianity can become another form of idol worship.

Teaching my 12 year old algebra this morning. When learning how to isolate the variable, he said “Wow Dad, this is like Home Alone! We just need to ‘Home Alone the X and make its family disappear!” LOL!

"Your son might work in a grocery store bagging groceries for the rest of his life." Someone said this to me right after my son Jack was diagnosed with autism. Over the years, the words stuck with me. I thought about them when he couldn't sit for circle time in kindergarten. When he couldn't take the bus home from school safely. When he started middle school, then high school. Fast-forward. Jack is twenty-one now. He works in a grocery store. He cuts fruit in the produce department. He works from 8:00 - 2:00 three days a week. He sets his alarm. He puts on his uniform. He walks to the bus station. He arrives on time. In this life alongside autism, I've learned it's not always about the destination, but how you got there in the first place. I've learned that a life lived differently is not a life less lived. Any any work, not matter what kind, is honorable. What a beautiful thing. Please join me in congratulating my son Jack on the first four months at his job. We are fiercely proud of him. He is right. Software engineering is not something I would advise my children to study for a career (but for fun / learning how things work, sure!). That said, all the other industries he said are in need are facing the same existential risk. Robots + AI will displace. Everything is at risk.

Mike Rowe: “We’ve been telling kids for 15 years to learn to code.” “Well, AI is coming for the coders.” “It’s not coming for the welders, the plumbers, the steamfitters, the pipefitters, the HVAC, or the electricians.” “In Aspen, I sat and listened to Larry Fink say we need 500,000 electricians in the next couple of years—not hyperbole.” “The BlueForge Alliance, who oversees our maritime industrial base—that’s 15,000 individual companies who are collectively charged with building and delivering nuclear-powered subs to the Navy … calls and says, we’re having a hell of a time finding tradespeople. Can you help?” “I said, I don’t know, man … how many do you need? He says, 140,000.” “These are our submarines. Things go hypersonic, a little sideways with China, Taiwan, our aircraft carriers are no longer the point of the spear. They’re vulnerable.” “Our submarines matter, and these guys have a pinch point because they can’t find welders and electricians to get them built.” “The automotive industry needs 80,000 collision repair and technicians.” “Energy, I don’t even know what the number is, I hear 300,000, I hear 500,000.” “There is a clear and present freakout going on right now. I’ve heard from six governors in the last six months. I’ve heard from the heads of major companies.”

God is so good! 4 years ago Tyson was my FOSTER son & labeled "failure to thrive." He was far below average in weight & had all sorts of health problems. They told us he had a couple holes in his heart that would always prevent him from doing certain things. Today, at age five, my SON Tyson has been cleared & is 100% healthy! No hole is his heart. He's in the 90th percentile for weight & height. He's the most athletic 5 year old I've ever seen! He's a CHAMPION!! The doctor said, "the hole in your heart closed on its own!" Tyson quickly responded "GOD DID IT!" That's right champion, God did it & we are grateful!!! Many of you have followed my families journey for years since we started fostering...... from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for all the prayers, well wishes, support along the way. 🙏❤️

We are staying this week at a Norman farm house in France. Homeschooling is going great and we are enjoying this especially cozy home during all this wet (though unseasonably warm - 12C/55F!) weather. Almost done putting together the latest long format vlog of our second to last week in the RV stage of our journey this summer. Soon!
