Mr @RajatSharmaLive, you may not remember but in 1998/9 ( not sure exactly which IMA term it was ), you met me and another Coursemate of mine ( a Brigadier now ) in Mussorie. We were IMA Cadets then out for a trip from Dehradoon, and decided to have some fancy food, a rare event given our limited finances and opportunities as cadets. As we reached this restaurant, we saw you. So we went up to you and said Hello, and that we appreciate your show etc. But what followed was what made me remember that day till date. You were with your daughter. Not sure if it’s the same young lady who’s getting married now. But you turned to her and introduced us as future military officers in such eloquent and respectful manner, that I’ve always remembered that. You spoke so nicely about our hardships and dedications etc, explaining it all to your young daughter. Your words really made both of us young lads feel really proud. As I said, you may not remember it. But here’s the thing - that encounter always stayed with me. It made me realise the respect and affection armed forces get, and made me resolve that I’ll always represent the fraternity. So no matter what, I should never let it down. Thanks for a timely lesson in self realisation. My best wishes and congratulations to your daughter, and the entire family. May God bless you all, and wishing her a long and happy married life.
