I've been building BattleCast (battlecast.gg) - a D&D 5e combat simulator where you watch the battles play out on a grid. 82 SRD monsters, different tactics, Monte Carlo win probability analysis, animated replays. All in the browser. Very early stage - feedback welcome!

If you care about campaign and legacy games, this one came out properly sharp. The short version: Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 is still the benchmark, but the field is much deeper in 2026 than people give it credit for. New on The Dice Drop: thedicedrop.com/posts/the-best…

I have re-launched my board game focused twitter account- @TheDiceDrop. It now comes with a website thedicedrop.com and is heavily relying on automation. It has been a fantastic project to work on, and I enjoy both the content it produces, as well as improving it!

@TheDiceDrop Can you give me overview of the game? Player numbers, time it takes to play, core mechanics/flow?

Want a heavier economic game that still feels clean at the table? Nippon Zaibatsu is about running an industrial Japanese conglomerate, building factories, producing goods, and turning those goods into regional influence across four maps. The hook is that colored workers drive everything. Every hire shapes your action timing, then consolidation resets your board and unlocks favors and scoring thresholds. If you like games where every move quietly sets up three more, this is a great pick. It has that sharp, spreadsheet-with-teeth energy, but the area influence race keeps it from feeling dry. #boardgaming #analoggames boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/4343…

Hidden roles turn every game into a trust exercise. Blood on the Clocktower, Secret Hitler, The Resistance. same core question, wildly different answers. What makes a hidden role game actually work (and why so many get it wrong). thedicedrop.com/posts/mechanic…

I’m always happy to sacrifice 2 pawns in the 2 Knights Defense, especially in Blitz. 😁 I think this game is instructive because of the rare 18.QxBc1 tactic which takes advantage of White’s weak back rank. #chesspunks

@andrewbissette Turns out building/running a social network is harder than most punters on the Internet would have you believe 😉
