@edsim @GergelyOrosz These are not a dev tool businesses as you would classically understand them. Their revenue model is marking up and reselling model inference services. Read their pricing pages if you want to see this concretely.

once upon a time the rule was you couldn't make money in dev tools, now the market has significantly expanded since any one can do dev work. over time will be interesting to see as code and apps deployed 📈, how tech debt and security issues get handled, esp in largest of orgs? Will AI catch up to automaintain or something else?

Lovable, Bolt .new, Replit AI, Vercel v0, Canva Code, Grok Studio, Google Firebase Studio, Claude Artifacts/Code, OpenAI Codex... all allow turning text into code, websites, browser games etc. Some are $20/mo - but many are free. This space is getting commoditized rapidly!
