Atrial Septal Aneurysm (ASA) in cardac CT. Usually defined as excursion > 10 mm (sometimes > 15 mm) to either side. Prevalence in the population likely around 2% (higher in populations with stroke of possible embolic origin). #cardiotwitter @escardio @Heart_SCCT @UniFAU

These new guidelines are so important. I’ve watch Rheumatic Heart Disease in kids during my vistis to Namibia. Once detected early, treatment is relatively straight forward. Echo can make such a difference here and me a true life saver.
