Maybe that's partially the reason why. I did it, but asked myself why I should do as I'm told. So many non-Canadians can do as they please in this country with next to no consequences & often their crimes are much more serious than not completing a form by a due date.
Lorrie Goldstein@sunlorrie

If you want to understand why a significant number of Canadians are reluctant to fill out the census, even though it's the law, it's in part because of constantly hearing about the feds being incapable of keeping confidential information confidential.

British Columbia has everything we need to lead: copper, gold, natural gas, forestry, fisheries, agriculture - and the best workforce in the country. So why are we stuck waiting? Waiting for permits. Waiting for approvals. Watching investment leave while the paperwork piles up. The NDP have created chaos. That ends under my leadership. As part of my Five-Point Premier’s Plan, I will accelerate approvals for major projects, enforce firm timelines, repeal DRIPA, restore certainty, and get our economy moving again. Government must move at the speed of business - or get out of the way. Get verified. Vote Iain Black #1. Together, we will get B.C. back on track. iainblack.ca

A HUGE FACT the media did NOT mention about today's BIG announcement AirAsia buys 150 A220 to be built by Airbus Canada in Mirabel, Quebec Carney & Frechette pull a victory lap gloating But here is what they omitted to mention: The A220 only exist because Bombardier built the model known as the CSeries... - In 2015, the Québec government invested roughly US$1 billion (about CAD$1.3B) into Bombardier’s struggling CSeries jet program to prevent its collapse and protect aerospace jobs in Québec. - The program suffered from major cost overruns, delays, weak sales, and trade disputes with Boeing in the U.S. - In 2018, Bombardier handed majority control of the CSeries program to Airbus for $1, rebranding it as the Airbus A220 (yes... $1) - By 2021, Québec’s original investment had been officially valued at $0 in provincial financial statements - Québec later reinjected even more money (2022 and 2024) to maintain its 25% stake in the Airbus A220 partnership - In 2025, Québec wrote down another $400 million tied to the A220 investment, acknowledging it may not recover a large portion of taxpayer funds. Total invested by Quebec = $1.7 BILLION Total jobs saved... 4,600 or $369,565/Jobs This doesn't deserve a victory lap It deserves a funeral for the tax payers ctvnews.ca/canada/article…

Also worth noting, I wouldn’t be doing this if their team had just said no to an interview. They didn’t say no, they strung me along for a long time and kept delaying. That’s why I’m going so hard on this. I have political staffers give me their word all the time, and they follow through. The Premier rescheduled our interview. It was planned for Monday and they said they had to reschedule because the DRIPA news. I thought I lost the opportunity. But him and his team rescheduled to the Wednesday. He didn’t have to. I’m not the biggest show in BC. But him and his team made a commitment and honoured it. Caroline’s team did not do that and I found it extremely unprofessional and very telling.

Watch Andrew Coyne drop the truth bomb on At Issue: 'And of course, the most recent one is we're now bailing out every section of the media as well.' Cue the nervous chuckle from Althia Raj... like someone just pointed out the quiet part out loud at the subsidized dinner table And poof, the topic vanishes faster than accountability in a newsroom on payroll At Issue for thee, but not for we, media bailout recipients. Nothing to see here, folks—just keep those taxpayer cheques flowing while we 'independently' analyze the government that's keeping the lights on" Classic insider moment: one panelist dares to acknowledge the giant conflict-of-interest elephant in the CBC studio, everyone else suddenly develops selective hearing... But aerospace! Journalism 2026, baby! Now Coyne can say 'See I raised the issue' 🤦‍♂️

This Government changed Canada's immigration rules to favour younger and less-experienced workers. This negatively impacted Youth Employment. D'uh. bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/upl…

🚨BIG PROBLEM FOR CARNEY🚨 During the election, Mark Carney told Canadians he owned “nothing but cash and personal real estate.” After committee testimony, ethics screen documents, and voting for Bill C-15, Democracy Watch is accusing Carney says Mark Carney broke the law.

Everyone's talking about the industrial carbon tax. Canada doesn't have one. It has hundreds of different carbon prices. Each facility pays different rates based on sector and carbon intensity vs a baseline That's why there are charts like this one showing various prices.

@iainblackbc @ryanlpainter @Conservative_BC This again is another good example of ..if it’s not broken.. But all governments get elected and love to make change.. even just for change sake. How about B.C. adopting a graduated system of adopting new rules, regulations and laws? Check them out over a period of time and 👇👇

It’s 4:20am. Our @Conservative_BC MLAs have done us proud, standing on principle through the night in the Legislature in Victoria, fighting against the NDP using their majority to stop debate on Bill 9: a bill that weakens Freedom of Information laws in BC. Well done to our team; truly. I was the minister responsible for that legislation. Of all the freedoms we hold dear in our democracy, this topic is a cornerstone. The shameful legislation our MLAs fought against overnight is yet another example of how the NDP is committed to shifting the balance of power away from you, the public, and toward the government. Ignore requests for information. New fees for asking. Hide info “politically inconvenient” to release. Target specific critics. Erode transparency behind the heavy curtain of the bureaucracy. With this bill, the NDP government - already famous for doing backroom deals in secret, including ones that undermine your private property rights - has now *formally* attacked your right to public oversight, to transparency and (thus) to hold government accountable. This is how BC Conservatives differ from the NDP. Add this to the list; once premier, I will repeal that legislation.

@KirkLubimov I would like @MarkJCarney to point out the spot oil price that shows a premium is being paid for low carbon oil. It does not exist.

Mark Carney doubles down on decarbonizing oil and claims that's what Asia is looking for. "One of the key selling points for Canadian conventional energy will be that it's low carbon. And so getting the emissions down will put us in a position - and I will tell you that from direct conversations with a series of governments across Asia; that’s what they’re looking for the medium term. That’s what the Government of Canada is working with the Government of Alberta in order to produce: a comprehensive approach through our MOU. We're making good progress on that, and that’s going to make the Oil Sands more competitive." Literally, no one has been asking that in Asia, out of all places, where 50% of energy production comes from coal and accounts for 80% of the world's coal consumption. Our oil production is already cleaner than the average by the government's own data. They just want our oil!
