Every day, 12 Canadians are diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and Canada continues to have one of the highest rates of MS in the world. That is why campaigns like #TakeActionforMS matter. I was pleased to welcome representatives from MS Canada to my office to discuss the importance of supporting research, raising awareness, and standing with the Canadians and families affected by this disease. Thank you for the important work you do and for taking the time to visit Parliament Hill #cndpoli

🚨 Canada is supposedly “leading the G7” while Canadians are rationing groceries, businesses are fleeing, #investment is drying up, and people with full time jobs are wondering why survival suddenly became a luxury subscription service. 🤔 Maybe the problem isn’t that Canadians are too pessimistic. Maybe it’s that government press releases and lived reality are now existing in separate dimensions? Catherine Swift joins @StephenLeDrew to unpack the growing gap between the economic story #Ottawa tells and the one Canadians are actually living every day. Including how government accounting tricks and carefully polished numbers can make things look healthier than they really are. Because according to Liberal logic, if you redefine enough #liabilities and repeat “strong economy” often enough, the #factory closures and food bank lineups become imaginary. Modern governance. Very sophisticated stuff.🤨 #cdnpoli #Economy #IMF #MarkCarney #CostOfLiving #Inflation #Business @WorkingCdns

@RossMcKitrick Dr. RMc So can you help decode what this new CMIP7 scenario might do for Canada and Policy? We based a few decisions on 8.5 .. perhaps fixing the lower limits (strike price) on carbon trading business’s.. etc. Could it move lower? rogerpielkejr.substack.com/p/rcp85-is-off…

As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Expo, I was touched and humbled to receive a special email today; an endorsement from an elder statesman of BC, and an icon of Kamloops politics, itself. 18 years of distinguished service, serving under 4 premiers. A former Speaker of the Legislature. The minister responsible for Expo ‘86: the event that put B.C. on the global map and arguably paved the way for BC to credibly bid on the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. And a fine man, who “taught me the ropes” when I was the youngest MLA & youngest cabinet minister in Gordon Campbell’s government all those years ago. Thanks, Claude. His email follows. _______________________ I have been following the competition for the next leader of the BC Conservative Party very closely, and I have reached a clear conclusion. There is only one person truly qualified for the job: Iain Black. He has the knowledge, the experience, and the courage needed to bring British Columbia back to where it should be. It will take a strong and capable leader to clean up the mess left behind by the NDP. Anyone who takes the time to read Iain’s plan will see that he has addressed all the key issues. Government spending will be brought under control, an unnecessarily bloated cabinet will be reduced to what is essential, and there will be no more wasteful giveaways. I was in provincial government for many years, most of them at the cabinet table. When Iain joined us there, it was immediately clear to me that he had what it takes. The other candidates in the race are good and sincere people, I am sure, and they mean well—but the real question is whether they can deliver the results British Columbians need starting day one. Iain also has the character and acumen to navigate the province through future events we cannot foresee. This time, we must vote for the leader who can back up his promises with real action. Iain Black is that leader. His track record at the Vancouver Board of Trade, along with his many successes in the private sector, speaks for itself. I urge all Conservatives to take a close and serious look at Iain Black’s plan. I am confident that when you do, you will see—just as I have—that he is the leader we need at this critical time. Sincerely, Claude Richmond Ex Minister of Tourism (including Expo 86), Social Services and Housing, Forestry, Speaker of the Legislature, and ex-Minister of Unemployment and Income assistance.

Caroline Elliott checks all the boxes except for one thing: no political experience. We already have a Prime Minister with no political experience and British Columbia is a province dealing with disaster in every direction. I don't know how her campaign gets around this issue.

According to the records: NO! The 1992 Charlottetown Accord referendum was not a multi question referendum. It was a single question national referendum. The Question: On October 26, 1992, Canadians were asked to vote "Yes" or "No" to one question: "Do you agree that the Constitution of Canada should be renewed on the basis of the agreement reached on August 28, 1992?" “NO” was the answer. What was in that August 28, 1992 agreement? “On August 28, 1992, the Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial governments, along with Aboriginal representatives, reached a unanimous agreement on a package of proposed constitutional amendments known as the Charlottetown Accord. Unveiled in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, the agreement was designed as a second attempt to secure Quebec's consent to the Constitution Act, 1982, following the failure of the Meech Lake Accord in 1990. Key Components of the Charlottetown Accord The Accord was a comprehensive reform package that included the following: Canada Clause: Entrenched a statement of fundamental values in the Constitution, including the recognition of Quebec as a "distinct society"within Canada and the recognition of Indigenous peoples' inherent right to self-government. Aboriginal Self-Government: Recognized Indigenous governments as a "third order of government" in Canada, along with federal and provincial governments. Senate Reform: Proposed a "Triple-E" Senate (elected, equal, and effective) with each province having 6 senators, and equal representation for territories. Division of Powers: Decentralized powers to the provinces, giving them exclusive jurisdiction over forestry, mining, and culture, and limiting the federal spending power. House of Commons Changes: Increased the number of seats to reflect population growth, guaranteeing that Quebec would never have fewer than 25% of all seats.” The Federal Government continues to do whatever it wants never taking into account the voices of the people. Politicians serve the Corporation of Canada and the Oligarchy. We, the people, are merely the tax slaves.

✔️It’s difficult to say because the sources like the Canadian Encyclopedia frequently mislead the people with misinformation. The truth is often covered up. This is a brief summary from other sources - how accurate? On October 26, 1992, Canadian voters rejected the Charlottetown Accord in a national referendum, with 54.4% voting "no". This proposal, a package of constitutional amendments aiming for Quebec’s consent to opt out of the 1982 Constitution, was defeated after failing to gain a majority in six of ten provinces. Key details of the 1992 referendum and the Accord: Purpose: The Accord sought to address constitutional disputes by recognizing Quebec as a "distinct society," guaranteeing Indigenous self-government, and reforming the Senate into an elected body. Opposition: Despite backing from all ten provincial premiers, the federal government, and numerous indigenous leaders, it was rejected due to widespread dissatisfaction within the political establishment, with critics seeing it as too complex or favoring certain groups over others. (Interesting) The referendum failed (54.4% "No"), leading to a loss of momentum for major constitutional reform and prompting the resignation of Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. No mention is made of Mulroney being caught doing deals in back rooms and collecting grift under the table. Harper used our tax dollars again to pay for Mulroney’s legal bills. (Mulroney also had an alcohol problem which was never addressed.) And again it was Harper that declared Quebec an independent nation in 2006!using a word salad to ensure that the corporate oligarchs in Lower Canada could continue to clean up at the trough. Paybacks & rewards work among the political elite regardless of party lines. That’s how the games are played.
