@engineeringolf Rick Sheils did a whole You Tube episode about it. Said it would help people hit the ball better. Bigger target, easier hit. Golf is really weird, especially post Covid. Rick has like 1 Million YouTube followers so he can’t possibly be full of shit, can he?

@RichardTakai I will be starting manufacturing on my billiards sized golf ball. It will make golf much easier. 😄

@engineeringolf The TopFlite Magna of yesteryear was also bigger than normal. I believe it had less spin and a higher COG making it easier to hit for new golfers. Some also said that it would help with putting as there was more ball to catch the hole. Not so sure about that one. 🤔

Put some work into the Ball Guide this weekend. Lineups separated by cover type. Sort by spin. Sort by feel. What else would you like to see?

@engineeringolf Get a giant wind tunnel and sort by realized peak height and wind performance. Should be easy enough!

Golf etiquette question for everyone: I was playing a buddy in a match. Was tied going into the 16th hole. On the green we essentially had the same 10 foot putt. If I two putted and he one putted, he’d win the hole. So I purposely aimed and missed the cup so he couldn’t get a read. He ended up missing the putt and was big time mad I did that. I was thinking from a strategy standpoint that if I bet he’d miss the putt, I’d tie the hole. If I gave him a read, he’d be more likely to make it. Good or bad move? Against the spirit of the game?

I’m not one to rush to the defense of big OEMs too often, so I hope this feels genuine. It’s always a tradeoff. Thinner urethane cover does provide a real spin increase. That layer flexes into the grooves. Ripping covers = spin. If you want durability, ionomer covers last forever. They just stink around the greens.

@BogeyBones Yep that’s what the feel toggle does. But keeps them separated into urethane & ionomer.

@SethRaynor_ Internet says it’s a thinner cover on the left dash, to make up for greenside spin that is lost due to the construction that lowers spin elsewhere. Your observation checks out.

I have been playing the ProV1x Left Dash, but have noticed after what feels like a few holes the ball is scuffed and scratched. Anyone else having this issue? Or a recommendation to a ball they are using? Difficult to play a full round with one ball when it’s significantly scuffed after one bunker shot or 4 holes.

@BrentBango Agreed, thanks for the idea. Claude seems pretty reliable at pulling actual listed retail, too. I’ll play with it. 👍

@engineeringolf That's why I figured an easy dollar sign model could be nice. Something roughly like (/dz): $ = < $30 $$ = $30-$45 $$$ = $45-$55 $$$$ = $55+ All give or take a couple bucks so you don't have to readjust for fringe cases.
