@emeriticus @JDVance @PM_ViktorOrban I’m not predicting this, but I fear that Trump’s takeaway might be that he should just try to militarize or cancel the midterms.

@JDVance @PM_ViktorOrban Hey Jd thank you for making sure Orban would lose by putting your zero charisma self on the campaign trail with him, I hope you bring the same energy to every state ahead of midterms

The real divide in our time is between those who believe in a better future for us and our children, and those who don’t. Great to speak in Budapest today with @PM_ViktorOrban

@FurkanGozukara The military who bombed a school? Sorry to break it to you, but that demonstrates that they do not mind bombing civilians.

A prominent retired US General drops a truth bomb on MS Now. Mark Hertling confirms military commanders are actively preparing to defy Donald Trump. They are bound by the Constitution to disobey unlawful orders to bomb Iranian civilians. A military revolt is brewing.

@hecubian_devil Flat white 99% of the time (the other 5% is batch brew or espresso macchiato). I’m on the far-left of the center-right.

I was a barista for 4 years and a customer’s partisanship was strongly predicted by how complicated/sugary their order was (after adjusting for race, gender, and age). Black coffee orders at Starbucks are overwhelmingly driven by liberal white men.

"This is a cup of Starbucks coffee. I checked: The most popular Starbucks coffee drink is a caramel macchiato. Caramel macchiato. Now I don't know what that is. I haven't had it. I generally don't drink coffee that takes ten or more words to order." -- @SenJohnKennedy

@jeremybalan High temps being a dealbreaker means that Palm Springs is out, which means that this is a horrible take. Palm Springs is my second-favorite city this size (I'm going to go ahead and artificially boost it into the 50k population bracket b/c of visitors) that I've ever been to.

@AshWriting97 @creepydotorg This by no means the consensus among the authorities. His case is in the FBI’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. You can find it on their website. So at least many in law enforcement obviously believe it was foul play.

Wish people would stop treating this case like it’s some creepypasta. There’s a strong consensus among authorities that he fell in a nearby river It was nighttime, he’d had a little to drink and was legally blind in one eye. It’s not a legit mystery. Contrary to what creepypasta YouTubers would have you believe, there aren’t kidnappers skulking around off remote country roads. It feels kinda open and shut.

In May 2008, Brandon Swanson accidentally drove into a ditch near Marshall, Minnesota, around midnight. He called his parents for help, staying on the phone with his father for 47 minutes while trying to explain his location. Suddenly, Brandon exclaimed, “Oh sh*t!” and the call ended. His car was found soon after, but Brandon was never seen again.

@Villgecrazylady Oh well. Nothing of value was lost. This guy was either a criminal himself or lived a luxury lifestyle off his dad’s blood money. Also, he was living large in Bali while his country burns. So just a scumbag all around.

This story is nuts. This guy, Igor Komarov, the son of a Ukrainian crime boss, was kidnapped in Bali 2 weeks ago by some people who said his dad stole a ton of money from them. They broke his legs, cut off his fingers, and tortured the hell out of him and made him film a bunch of hostage videos disclosing how his family’s business scams people. Anywho, he’s dead now. Dad didn’t pay the ransom. Crazy stuff.

@DKThomp As a restaurant owner, it’s not as brutal as people think. If you remove wildly incompetent owners from the equation, the success rate is actually startlingly high imo. The thing is, a lot of people don’t do their hw, or let their egos make business decisions. Those places fail.

Restaurants are a brutal business, and fast casual restaurant chains seem like an even more brutal business, and even with those caveats out of the way, Sweetgreen just seems like a very badly run company.

@StatisticUrban I’ll still take Denver, despite being a bit farther from the mountains than people think, over a place full of sister wives and weirdos who think Jesus was from Missouri and that I’m going to hell for having a flat white.

@newenhuyse @AmusedToDeath1 True, and that’s good, but he’s still quite obese. I don’t need my president to have a beach body, but I won’t vote for someone who has something that makes him significantly more likely to serve a full eight years.

@avidseries Almost everyone has been the victim of assault. Depending on the jurisdiction, that could be something as insignificant as touching without consent (like shoving someone aside). In some jurisdictions, a threat constitutes assault.

@michaelpfreeman Yeah I agree…but regular people bear some blame here. They always say that they don’t want “career politicians.” So this is what happens if you don’t want a career politician. By definition, you have to want a president without political experience.

@MrBusby4o8 This was so weird because the lady has a conspiracy theory that I’ve never seen before or since. The two that are the most common are, of course, that he’s a secret Muslim and that he is Kenyan-born. This was the only time that I ever heard the claim that he faked his ethnicity

NYC might lose the greatest city in the world designation simply because of how difficult it is to leave JFK. What do you mean I need to walk 30 minutes to take an Air Train to Howard Beach and get a $300 Uber?

@LinkofSunshine Yes, but this is exceedingly rare. I have worked for 16 summers in Sag Harbor, NY. I wait on Europeans daily. This area has a very high percentage of Europeans in summer. The overwhelming majority tip acceptably.
