@brodenholland Last year we had trouble with it moving the line on you when doing your headland laps last in the seeder as it want to centre your line between the coverage instead of over lap into the paddock.

Autopath boundaries is bloody awesome, Software 25.3 and 25.4 in john Deere gen 4 or 5 has a new autopath module and it have changed the game. So easy to setup and so bloody good to use especially when you have boundaries mapped properly. Loving it

@fm9rob @brendanw59 @WeedSmartAU There’s more now on the market. I recently looked at a spot camera with symphony duo nozzles on the states and this is the next level imo 👍👌

@brendanw59 @agrobaz @WeedSmartAU We have been using GOG for three years in lentils with more wins than losses but can’t see us using it in cereals for those reasons.

@agrobaz @fm9rob @WeedSmartAU Don’t be blinded by tech the fundamental issue is that if you can’t see the weed then you’re screwed. The presence of the crop in your field of view obscures weeds esp those in the row. Whole different story with row crops like corn on 30” rows.

@agrobaz @brendanw59 @WeedSmartAU To my knowledge Agrifac is the only machine on the market with this functionality. I see this as the way forward for GOG technology, matching the rate to the weed size. The cost to do a seperate pass for only an 80% job doesn’t add up.

@brendanw59 @WeedSmartAU I wonder if another way of using this tech is to apply higher chem rates when the camera spots a weed. Maybe using $$ products like talinor, factor etc that are rate responsive could really add up to some savings.

@fm9rob @GribbleRC Gribble ones little more aggressive which is working better this year with the tough finish and tough heads. Still no cracking. Both around 0.5% better loss than standard when we tested last year

@wooffwayne @LMcustomtuning Agree, lots of the hot areas don’t get great air flow. They build up with crop material quickly and are in close proximity to the covers over the turbo’s.

@LMcustomtuning I’m curious if part of the problem is the lack of fan air volume in the engine compartment with the reversing fan it doesn’t move enough air sometime if your in a older s series stand up there when it’s wide open I’ve never had a fire yet but my 2 cents

Fixing some residual N variation from 3 different wheat varieties last year, this protein turned urea map fixes it all and evens the plant available nitrogen back up for this year canola

@sjhooper1 We used 03 40degree nozzels over summer and they worked well with side safety off

@fm9rob Blanket tank is 9000l and spot tank 1000 and that has worked out pretty well so far spraying between 5-10% have only operated with side safety also, with narrower nozzle and side safety off could split that percentage in half again. Seems to work well so far

Hopefully turning a 2 pass radish camera spot spray strategy into a 1 pass job and potentially a $15/ha herbicide saving, time will tell.

@sjhooper1 Cheers Sam, it’s a fair rig! That’s interesting, I was thinking about a 2/3-1/3 split. But that may be too much. The GoG we have done we are usually in the 15-35% range with side safety chasing grasses and broad leaf out of lentils.

EP3 has been transparently reporting on urea pricing in Australia for over four years, and we have provided access to our analysis on our website. We have some new information coming out next week to continue to improve what we provide to the industry. May has seen a drop in the urea price to approximately A$650 landed in Australia. With our modelling, this equates to approximately A$ 760 loaded onto a truck at the port.

@ScottStringer12 Sowing on last years row helps with saline areas, a disc would help with this with out pulling all the stubble out

What’s people’s experience/views on a disc machine for saline areas of paddocks for cropping? Has anyone got a disc and saline area of paddocks and have u seen as improvement of germination and obviously yield?

Yeah our old contractor had two of the early lexicon 600 great machine when they were running nothing could touch them.....then they'd sit in corner for 2 hrs x9s many years on are similar but id say but more capacity without the breakdowns and build thicker. So they should be though for the year later in time JD had to develop

Wheaten hay, 150mm of rain for the year...turns out, this is not enough rain. Head has not emerged, but the plant is flowering. My guess is that even with the 10mm of rain last night, no stem elongation will occur. Will be cut tomorrow. Less than ideal.
