People don’t seem to realize how serious this is. BlackRock, which is the largest asset manager in the world, just hit investors with a withdrawal limit on its $26 billion private credit fund. About $1.2 billion tried to get out and they capped it at 5%. So, nearly half those investors are stuck and cannot get their money out. At the same time, Blackstone is facing record withdrawals and had to inject $400 million of its own cash to stabilize its fund. When the biggest asset managers on the planet start locking the doors, this isn't a small problem anymore. That's usually what happens when liquidity dries up. And when it hits a $1.8 trillion market like private credit, yeah, pay attention because that’s a warning sign. Plus, the worrying signal here isn’t just the withdrawal cap. It’s that multiple major funds are facing liquidity pressure at the same time. That’s usually how stress starts spreading across a market. But moments like this remind us that the risk doesn’t disappear, it just gets delayed.
