@GlennGlennones @Saab I don't think there is a difference in the seeker, Unless it has some other seeker vs the base rim174 xband radar seeker. .sealth excels against high-frequency X-band, however lower-frequency radar (VHF/UHF) can often detect them. But Im not a missile guy or have secret info🫤

@galleryss @Saab Absolutely, but stealth goes out the window if you use the AIM-174B, and it's only the US Navy that uses it. I don't remember how many you can fit on an F-18 in DCS, but I'm guessing four? I don't know too much about the Russian counterpart, but I'm guessing it's big also?

@NATO posted this ❤️ Image in FB, of @LockheedMartin f-35 #f35 because stealth + sensor fusion is what gets a pilot home SAFE FOR Canada the F35 is the best modern choice for a jet. Sorry, but Gripen is good 4th gen but old, nonstealth, last gen No #gripenforcanada pls #canada

4 people are in there with hopes, dreams, risk and the unknown. It makes me breathless, knowing how they're feeling and what they're facing. So exciting to see what we're capable of when we work together in common purpose, deciding to push back the edges of our collective ignorance. Have a great voyage, crew of @NASAArtemis!

@TransitPoliceBC I'm sure @TransLink is having great fun, today, @TransLinkNews jokes and memes don't belong even on April fools. Stay focused and serious. You're an essential service not a hip cool startup.

I feel I should be excited about artemis 2, but i get nothing. Pluto flyby, mars rover, hubble, there was always something new. What are we going to learn by humans shot around the moon? It feels like a needless expensive, complicated and goalless. Not pushing buttons 4 me :-/

@GlennGlennones @Saab Indeed and agreed ps meteor has a big limitation it's air breathing intakes are not variable l, means unlike the aim174 or r37 if you descend or climb above the meteors ideal operating altitude it's engine chokes out. That's why Russians abandoned R77 pd missile in favor of 77m

@galleryss @Saab But you don't have a global eye AWACS in DCS, so the Gripen would probably see you coming before you could get a shot off and the Meteor outranges the AMRAAM quite a bit and is made for stealth targets. But a F35 with AWACS is a different story!

@GlennGlennones @Saab However missiles can track a jamming source emmiter and home on jam. But if you look at my video at least the awacs and jammers I could see and track their general position. The f35 was not on awacs or datalink. Unless I saw it visually or it's missile went active I had no idea

@galleryss @Saab Radar-guided missiles can't lock on to a target that is jamming. You have to get really close to burn through the jamming for it to lock on. Otherwise, you are completely right, Gripen is not stealth It's low observable.

@GlennGlennones @Saab But it's still not stealth in my video I'm showing ng that how much harder it is to track and engage a stealth hostile. Gripoen canJam But not stealth. So even with jammers radar guided missiles Can still find and lock. F35 is hard to see. Heater fox2 can see it, from real Close

@galleryss @Saab And the Gripen you're using in DCS is not the same that Canada is buying. Canada is buying the E version, very similar to the F-35 in capability.

This guy doesn't think Iran is smart enough to prioritize targeting an AWACS. Very high value, low density asset and very easy to spot. Also a key asset that enables defense against their one-way attack munitions, in particular. It would be the top target on that installation.
Shahryar Pasandideh@shahpas

🇮🇷🇸🇦🇺🇸 I'll buy the argument that Iran's targeting of AN/TPY-2 radars early in the war was part of a concerted campaign intended to neutralize high-end BMD sensors, but I think it is a stretch to characterize the reported damage to a USAF E-3 AEW&C aircraft as Iran undertaking something to the effect of an "asymmetric counter-air campaign." It was likely a target of opportunity, with IRGC planners being perfectly content if a KC-135, or even a "mere" chartered 737 or 767 that delivered military personnel and/or equipment, was damaged, if not destroyed, instead of an E-3. Granted, I can see how and why someone taking an unmistakably American perspective/POV might view this incident as evidence of a concerted Iranian "counter-air campaign," but I think this is the result of mirror imaging and hindsight. These strikes are not new. There have been reported Iranian strikes against al-Kharj/Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia for some time now. Why were the "usual suspects" not talking about a concerted Iranian "counter-air campaign" before reports/satellite imagery emerged of damage to aircraft on the sprawling apron at this Saudi airbase near Riyadh (and after we had reports of attacks against al-Kharj/Prince Sultan)?

@Sputnik_India Each unit is 12-16 million dollars. 47M is 4 units at best... That's a huge order. No.. Either it's a tiny order or Sputnik India messed up the numbers. Ok. Even at 8 million that's 5-6 units..

@iamkennethchan @robmackaydunn @j_mcelroy Have you been to the marina it's for historical ships. Not random for profit barges. Historical ships. Kenneth you used to actually be on the street and paid attention to what was going on. Go for a walk and look at the marina before writing your opinions.

The marina is called Heritage Harbour, and it features a free outdoor exhibition of vintage boats -- an often overlooked extension of the Vancouver Maritime Museum. I'd argue that a 1943-built, Second World War barge that is repurposed for a new second life fits perfectly within the marina's showcase theme. Plus, its active use as a spa not only provides the struggling non-profit museum with much-needed revenue, but also helps generate foot traffic and adds interest to the area, which is a big win. If visitors are looking for unobstructed views of the harbour, skyline, and mountains, they can *literally* walk a couple dozen steps farther north -- past the HAVN barge -- to the end of the small peninsula. There are plenty of vantage points in and around Kits Point.

@clashreport @Supersonic_Red countermeasures? Where? As for defensive he didn't pull much g made fairly chill turn, the missile hits and makes an impact. Any larger warhead would have torn the wing clean off. Glad the pilot and jet made it. But this does not look like crazy defensive flying.
