Let me make sure I have this straight. Biden signed a Social Security bill yesterday that said SS benefits would no longer be reduced for public employees who also get a public pension. At first blush, that seemed fair to me. After all, if you paid into the system, you should get full benefits, right? But look at the JPEG excerpt below from a CNBC article (I'll link to the whole article in the post below because the algo hates outside links.) If I'm reading this correctly, it's saying that these public employees--people already getting pensions that no private citizen taxpayer ever gets--will get also Social Security benefits EVEN THOUGH they never had any Social Security withheld when they were working? Am I reading this correctly? I may not be. If someone understands this better than me, please explain. Thx.
