Some big Mets news that might’ve gotten lost in all the shuffle of opening weekend: the Team Store at Citi Field now sells full velour tracksuits

I’d probably have Camden Yards in my top 5 along with Wrigley, PNC, Fenway and Oracle. Note that I haven’t been to Dodger Stadium.

Hard to fathom those acting like this was anything close to what it was at Citi Field. Lighting far worse. That trumpet & audio did not sound good. People acting like this entrance was never seen before when this was the Temu version of the Mets entrance. The difference here is yes, the Dodgers are back 2 back World Series champions. So I can’t knock that. He’s got a chance to win a few rings. Hoping the Mets can knock them out this year & get our ring. Losing Diaz to the Dodgers was the only Mets offseason player loss that frustrated me.

This is awesome. Edwin Diaz makes his first appearance at Dodger Stadium with an actual trumpet playing for him as he comes in for the 9th.

Not going to write Sean Manaea's season off on March 12th because his velo is down in games that don't count. Let's see how he looks come April before calling him Frankie Montas.... Is it concerning? 100%. This is a real prove it year for him after injuries & struggles last year. Mets paid him frontline starter money. He's got to rebound this year or that 3-year deal looks bad.

If you don’t think that this is good for baseball, there is something seriously wrong with you… Baseball will be better when the boomer purists are gone. This is good for the game. This is absolutely electric & I love every second

JEFF INNIS: “The first time I met Gary Carter was on the mound when I was pitching. He was really cool. He was like, ‘Hey, listen, I've never caught you. I know you're a sinker and slider guy, but if you need to, just shake me off, okay? You're the guy in charge.’ I was like, ‘Okay, thanks.’ I was glad he said that. The first guy up was Chris Speier and he grounded out to second. I struck the second and third guys out. Three up, three down.“ ⚾️ Innis made his big league debut May 16, 1987, with the New York Mets. He played in seven major league seasons. Unfortunately, Jeff passed in early 2022 and I was unable to get a release for the “Called Up” book, which was turned into the publisher later that year.

@metsarebest2 For the Mets to come out and say they could have gone 4, is pretty moot. I don’t recall a such reporting btw. I’ve learned to root for the jersey in the front, so I’m straight. This was really in response to Strawberry coming out and yapping

The truth about Pete Alonso: Any Mets player, past or present, who claims Pete made a mistake by leaving is lying. In their shoes, most would have done the exact same thing. Pete was severely undervalued by the organization. The Mets never even made him a formal offer. It’s unfortunate, but baseball is a business and it can turn ugly quickly. Two things can be true at once; Pete was a fan favorite and the front office chose to go a different direction. We move! 😤 #LGM

This is ridiculous! Tanking is losing behavior done by losers. Purposely losing is something nobody should want to be associated with. Embarrassing for the league and for the organizations. And the talk about this as a “strategy” is ridiculous. If you are a bad team, you get a good pick. That makes sense. But purposely shutting down players and purposely losing games is a disgrace and impacts the integrity of whole league. This is much worse than any prop bet scandal. This is throwing games strategically. Horrible for fans that pay to watch and cheer on their team. And horrible for all the real teams that are competing for playoff spots. Awful behavior that Adam Silver and the NBA will need to stop with massive changes, and I have complete confidence that with his leadership, he will fix it. Those of us in a position of influence need to speak out… the only “strategy” is doing right by fans, players, and the NBA community.

NEW @YahooSports STORY: Adam Silver says this is the most tanking he's ever seen. So I power ranked the tanking teams based on a sophisticated five-factor system. sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/nb…
