🇧🇷 Brazil is always so interesting for me to visit For people outside Brazil it's mostly known for carnival and poor favelas But you actually have a top layer of society who are ultra-rich and it's that income divide that's interesting to observe I'm a European so I was raised to be less opulent about wealth, in Brazil it's usually the opposite, people love to show it off because it proves they escaped poverty South Brazil especially is quite rich, so what you see here is the ultra-rich of the local country club exhibiting their daughters when they turn 15 I mean why? I have no clue but it's interesting to see, I feel like a cultural anthropologist Of course I asked ChatGPT, why? So it appears to have originated from European kings, aristocrats and elites moving to South America and then those traditions were converted from royal families to the wealthy upper class social country clubs Sometimes I think the entire world has already become the same but then you find stuff like this and it's so different Interesting also that a lot of European traditions simply don't exist anymore in Europe but continue elsewhere in the world, especially US and South America!
