my favorite lib thing is that they insist Trump is dumb he beat a field of career politicians for the 2016 Republican nomination, then beat Hillary Clinton, who belongs to a political dynasty and was anointed by Obama as the next president Biden won 2020 in a fluke, then Trump beat Biden so badly in a debate that Biden was forced by his own party to drop out then Trump beat Kamala, winning every swing state and the popular vote and gaining nearly every single demographic that he was supposed to struggle with (young, black, hispanic, etc.) in between that, he fought indictments, dozens of felony charges, an arrest, and civil suits he has reshaped politics in his image on both an american and global scale if he’s dumb as a brick, what does that say about the people he’s been running circles around for a decade

I suspect Trump thought killing Khamenei would be a punctuation mark that would let him declare victory and disengage (like the June bombings of nuclear facilities). I also suspect it's going to have the opposite effect. It can't be overemphasized that Trump is dumb as a brick.
