@QuestWithMatt Definitely more to come. Well funded original titles will be rare. The landfill will increase resulting in unoriginal clones made of cheap marketplace assets. Not exactly the innovation required to excite a new generation of users. Without player growth there is no market growth.

Deep in the long tail of implementing IOBT (torso and arm tracking). At the moment I’m on week 3/? of reworking the GoKart seat to work with a tracked spine. The amount of engineering VR requires to accomplish the obvious is staggering.

A Quick Thank You: It’s absolutely incredible to think back on how far we’ve come since launching our humble Flat2VR modding Discord a few years ago. We banded together with a singular passion: to bring our favorite flat games into the wonderfully immersive and magical world of VR. Our dream has always been to go even deeper too though with our work—to craft VR ports that truly feel as if they were built from the ground up for VR. It’s a level of polish that we often can’t achieve when just modding a game (though this community will always be about modding too). Even though Trombone Champ may appear simpler, I’m SO proud of our team’s work and how it turned out. It shows a game that's running a lot of the flat game’s code underneath and a lot of people probably won’t be able tell. Now imagine this same treatment for say, your favorite AAA game. That’s our dream. Why is porting existing games so important for VR? While we need groundbreaking VR titles built from scratch, we also need experiences that just wouldn’t be feasible most of the time to create for VR budget and time-wise. Sometimes it’s also just about bringing brilliant game concepts like Trombone Champ to VR too, leveraging years of development, lore, secrets and crazy amounts of fun that the original creator packed very tightly into the game and to experience that in a whole new way. We truly believe we’re in a position to help VR grow with Flat2VR Studios by officially giving players games that they can lose themselves in for hundreds of hours—rich in depth, brimming with content, and often with graphics and visuals rarely seen in VR titles. I’d be lying if I said the road to get bigger publishers to work with us on this dream hasn’t been a long, winding, and often frustrating one. The amount of blood, sweat and tears the whole team has worked to get us here is incredible and I am so lucky to get to work with them. I just want to give a huge shoutout to HolyWow, the og TC developers. Trombone Champ really holds a special place in ours hearts because it’s the first game the developers trusted us with to get this ball rolling and their trust really paved the way for bigger things in the works. Thank you for all the support we’ve seen for Trombone Champ already. Your support really helps show other developers / publishers that there’s a demand for bringing their games to VR. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank each and every one of you for your incredible support and for sharing our dream over the years. Your positivity and encouragement mean the world to us. Trombone Champ is just a small step toward the amazing things we’re working on, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon! ❤

@IGN Astrobot is the clear winner. Probably the most polished and best gameplay of any game in the past 10 years. Completely underrated and under represented. Very happy to see it in the nominations! Go Team Asabi!

Started to review a new vr game coming soon and it’s got some good points but damn, it’s also got some bad choices from the offset that put me off. I cringe when a game isn’t tested and the standard options gamers understand are thrown out the window for a developers own made up choices. Reminds me of when you see people at the gym invent new moves with machines not designed for what they are trying to achieve… but anyway, there’s also an audio decision that kills the story and the overall gameplay makes it so bloody hard to stay awake. SO! Do I stop now and make a first impressions vid which will take me another 2-3 hours OR scrap the 2 hours of recording I’ve done and stop now because I don’t want to risk slipping into a coma? Finishing the game is off the menu. I’ll die.
