@sentdefender I pray for her and her husband. She had honesty and integrity. She will be missed, and difficult to replace with someone of the same caliber.

@InsiderGeo Plus there are about 600 US troops stationed in Southern Estonia and about 1000 in Lithuania - as long as they are there I would considered these troops the best deterrence currently.

Germany isn’t alone. The United Kingdom has established a joint task-force based out of Tapa, Estonia, along with France and Denmark.
Similarly, Canada has created a multinational task force located near Ādaži, Latvia with troops contributed by Spain, Italy, and Poland. As such, any attack on any of the three countries results in an immediate and direct confrontation between European military powerhouses and Russia. This represents deterrence through visible military presence.

THREAD | Currently, there is much discussion regarding the Baltics and the threat posed by Russia. To put things into perspective, the 2016 Rand simulation showed that Russian forces would take anywhere between 60 to 72 hours to reach either Tallinn or Riga. There is very little strategic depth. Below are ways these nations are preparing themselves. 🧵⬇️

@Puravik221106 @igorsushko This 100%. Igor's shit has popped up on my feed for the last 4 years but none of it he has said has been true.
English

@igorsushko Igor, can you stop stomping on this all-new bullshit? Where's wind of change? Nuclear holocaust? All all the shit you "predicted" over past 6 years?

After recently waiving sanctions on Russia oil in an attempt to stabilize skyrocketing oil prices resulting from the ongoing Iran War and the threats to the Strait of Hormuz, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox News this morning that the Trump Administration may also waive sanctions soon on tankers belonging to and carrying oil for Iran.

@maria_drutska IMO there wasn't anything new in the article. But still a good read though.

If you haven’t read this long-read yet, you absolutely should. It’s worth every minute.

@sentdefender And Poland, Lithuania and Finland should do the same then for the same reason.

President Donald J. Trump stated earlier in a post on Truth Social:
“Maybe we should have put NATO to the test: Invoked Article 5, and forced NATO to come here and protect our Southern Border from further Invasions of Illegal Immigrants, thus freeing up large numbers of Border Patrol Agents for other tasks.”

I’ve been banned from traveling to the UK. 🇬🇧
No reason given. No right to appeal. Zero due process.
Just an email saying the UK government deems me "not conducive to the public good" - exactly three days after I criticized Keir Starmer.
I guess my point that the UK is no longer a free country has been indisputably proven.

@TRozumu @InsiderGeo No they would not be if there was proper evidence of a build-up. This time it was just on rumour and all the idiots reposting it.
English

@InsiderGeo the negative effects of such fear-mongering are that if one day there actually ARE such forces, the warnings will be downplayed and morons will be talking about "warmongerers" and so on.

Lithuania’s Armed Forces have dismissed claims that more than 300,000 Russian troops are stationed in Belarus, calling the reports sensational disinformation.
In a statement, they said there is nothing even remotely close to such numbers in Belarus. Russian military capabilities are tied down in Ukraine, and no significant Russian forces are deployed near Lithuania’s or other NATO countries’ borders. As such, Lithuania sees no basis to speak of an imminent threat based on non-existent forces, warning that sensational claims spread fast and should not be amplified.

GeoInsider@InsiderGeo
The claim that 360,000 Russian soldiers are stationed in Belarus near the NATO border comes from a CDU politician in Germany, the actual number of troops is nowhere near this figure.
English

@YourAnonCentral It's one source and idiot accounts like yours spreading it like wildfire. You really think amassing such forces would have gone unnoticed until today?

Journalist: You are lobbying more weapons to be sent to Ukraine, how do you justify that morally... you think more weapons will wind down the war?
There’s a special place in hell for journalists who sit safely under the protection of the strongest country on earth, the most heavily armed, and by some cosmic coincidence, one that never hosts wars on its own soil. And from that perch, they dare to ask how arming Ukraine aligns with peace.
It does, my sweet summer child. It absolutely does.
Yes, we don’t want war. We never did. But Russia invaded our country, and if we don’t defend ourselves, we die. We need weapons for survival, and to make sure we don’t walk around with targets on our foreheads ever again.

At the Headquarters of the Saab Defense Group this morning in Linkoping, Sweden, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a Letter of Intent (LOI), alongside Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, regarding the future purchase of 100-150 Saab JAS 39E “Gripen-E” Multirole Fighter Jets for use by the Ukrainian Air Force. The Gripen-E just entered active production very recently, with deliveries to Ukraine not likely to occur until late 2020s, though Gripen-C/Ds are expected to arrive in Ukraine in early 2026.
