Shocker, much of Oklahoma has been trimmed out of Thursday’s risk as the focus is primarily on states farther north. However, beyond the D3 outlook, we have 15% risks for every day up to D7. Get ready for another active stretch. Perhaps more active than the last. #wxtwitter

Vexcel Gray Sky imagery reveals a downburst occurring as the Ringle, Wisconsin EF3 tornado developed along Martin Rd, east-northeast of Kronenwetter. An impressive swath of straight-line wind damage is visible just north of the EF3 path (visible by convergent tree damage), although the trees in this area appear relatively weak.

715 PM 4/19: Severe thunderstorm potential looks to increase later this week (Thursday and Friday) from the central/southern Great Plains into the Lower Mississippi Valley. Be sure to check back for later forecasts as risk areas may change.

Wisconsin has recorded three EF-3 tornadoes in 2026. This marks the first year since 1994 in which the state has recorded 3 tornadoes of at least EF-3+ intensity. In addition, April 17th marks the 1st time since June 23rd, 2004 where the state saw two EF-3+ tors in one day. #WIwx

As of Sunday (April 19)- #Wisconsin’s #tornado 🌪️ count for the year is 23… which happens to be the average for the entire year.
14 of those struck Friday (April 17), with 3 of them being EF3 in strength.
