Taxes are equivalent to 20% of the base fare & are making air travel increasingly unaffordable.

Air Passenger Duty (APD) is being hiked once again this week, such that 4 adults flying from the UK to New York this Easter in premium economy will pay £1950 between them in APD.
The tax is not just making holidays more expensive & increasing the cost of living, it's also ham-stringing Britain's aviation industry.

Rachel Reeves blaming forecourts is pure deflection. At 160p per litre: Tax: 80p Forecourt profit: 7p The government takes over 50%, which is around 10x more than forecourts. But somehow it’s the petrol stations fault? The public can see straight through this.
