@Knesix The leadership of the Catholic Church has been weak and pathetic for the last 64 years. They secularized and lost their purpose at a time of great social and technological change, when it was important for the Church to maintain moral authority. Instead it stumbled.

So the Pope met with David Axelrod last week. David Axelrod. Obama's campaign architect. A man who is not Catholic, has never met a pope before, and whose entire career has been engineering political narratives for the American left. And then, by pure coincidence, the Pope immediately started lobbing shots at the Trump administration, and three US Cardinals popped up on 60 Minutes doing the same thing. All organically, I'm sure. I'm a practicing Catholic. I need you to understand that part. But in my opinion, Trump has all the right to lash out at him. Maybe you'll disagree, but in the end, Trump talks like Trump. Water is wet. I'm talking about MY Church being run like a DNC satellite office but with a golden throne. This is the same Vatican that watched governments padlock churches during COVID and said nothing. That let Biden take communion while funding abortion and said nothing. That fired Bishop Strickland for defending actual Church doctrine. That removed Bishop Fernández in Puerto Rico for defending religious exemptions THE CATECHISM ITSELF supports. But somehow Trump is the threat to human dignity. Pope Francis was bad. Leo has turned out to be worse. Francis at least was vague about his politics. Leo went and hired the consulting firm. The man has ignored the slaughter of Christians across Nigeria, the Sahel, India, Syria, Bangladesh, Pakistan. Hundreds of believers murdered, churches burned, pastors kidnapped. His response? Platitudes about dialogue. OF COURSE he won't even name who's doing the killing. But he'll fly across continents to make interfaith gestures the week after his people coordinated a media hit on a sitting US president. The weaponization of belief is obvious. You get the Pope to pick a fight with Trump, and suddenly millions of conservative Catholics have to choose between their faith and their vote.

🚨BREAKING: NYPD officer who threw a cooler at a fleeing drug dealer has been sentenced to 3–9 years in prison. In 2023, Sgt. Erik Duran was part of a drug sting in the Bronx when a suspect sped away on a scooter toward two officers making another arrest. Trying to protect them, Duran threw a cooler, knocking the suspect off the scooter and causing fatal head injuries. Despite an exemplary record, he was convicted of manslaughter. At sentencing, Judge Guy Mitchell rejected the defense that Duran was safeguarding his team. The judge stated that Duran should have simply let the suspect drive by, adding that "he could've been captured another day." This verdict and sentence represent a profound miscarriage of justice. Activist judges are sending officers who risk their lives to serve and protect to prison, while career criminals continue to terrorize NYC streets with little consequence. The conviction of Sgt. Duran sends a dangerous and unprecedented message: police officers can no longer risk prison for split-second decisions to protect their colleagues or the public. Instead, every suspect, no matter how dangerous or evasive, must be handled with kid gloves. This indefensible outcome undermines law enforcement morale and public safety. It is a shameful day for justice in New York.

The wild part is using social presence as the primary exploit. Most people look for red flags in a single profile, but it’s almost impossible to ignore a full "world" with colleagues, Slack history, and group calls. We’re wired to trust the social graph more than the individual. It’s a dark proof of concept for why identity feels so much more real when it exists in a social context instead of a vacuum.

North Korean intelligence agents built an entire fake company to compromise one JavaScript developer. And it worked. UNC1069 didn't hack Axios. They befriended its maintainer. They cloned a real company founder's identity, built a branded Slack workspace with fake employee profiles and LinkedIn post channels, then scheduled a Microsoft Teams call with what appeared to be a full team. During the call, a fake error message said his system needed an update. He installed it. That update was the RAT. From one developer's laptop, they had everything: npm credentials, publishing access, the keys to a package installed in 80% of cloud environments. Axios gets 100 million downloads per week. The attackers published two poisoned versions at 12:21 AM UTC on a Sunday night, tagging both the latest and legacy branches within 39 minutes. The malicious dependency had been pre-staged 18 hours earlier with a clean decoy version to build registry history. Three separate RAT payloads were pre-built for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The malware self-deleted after execution to erase forensic evidence. The poisoned versions were live for about three hours before npm pulled them. Huntress observed 135 endpoints across all operating systems calling the attacker's command-and-control server during that window. Wiz found the malicious versions in roughly 3% of environments scanned. Every affected machine needs full credential rotation: npm tokens, AWS keys, SSH keys, CI/CD secrets, everything in .env files. The part that keeps getting worse: this isn't isolated. The same threat cluster compromised Trivy (a security scanner), KICS, LiteLLM, and multiple GitHub Actions in the two weeks before Axios. Google estimates hundreds of thousands of stolen secrets are now circulating from these combined attacks. The maintainer had 2FA enabled. He said himself: "I have 2FA/MFA on practically everything." The exact method of token compromise is still undetermined. One person. One fake Teams call. 100 million weekly downloads weaponized in under three hours. The npm ecosystem runs on mass trust in individual maintainers who volunteer their time, and North Korean intelligence now has a repeatable playbook for turning that trust into a delivery mechanism.

this is actually insane > be tech guy in australia > adopt cancer riddled rescue dog, months to live > not_going_to_give_you_up.mp4 > pay $3,000 to sequence her tumor DNA > feed it to ChatGPT and AlphaFold > zero background in biology > identify mutated proteins, match them to drug targets > design a custom mRNA cancer vaccine from scratch > genomics professor is “gobsmacked” that some puppy lover did this on his own > need ethics approval to administer it > red tape takes longer than designing the vaccine > 3 months, finally approved > drive 10 hours to get rosie her first injection > tumor halves > coat gets glossy again > dog is alive and happy > professor: “if we can do this for a dog, why aren’t we rolling this out to humans?” one man with a chatbot, and $3,000 just outperformed the entire pharmaceutical discovery pipeline. we are going to cure so many diseases. Individual crimes don’t represent whole groups. People of every background commit crimes, and people of every background are also victims. Media coverage varies for many reasons (local vs national relevance, confirmed facts, timing, other major news events, etc.). Sometimes awful crimes receive limited national attention even when they deserve more. Spreading unverified or highly emotional accounts online can unintentionally spread misinformation or escalate tensions. And most importantly, the real tragedy in situations like this is the harm done to the victims and their families, which deserves empathy and accurate reporting rather than turning it into a racial narrative. What actually happened (verified): On February 13 in Delta Township, Michigan, police responded to an active violence incident involving a family walking with their child in a wagon. Authorities say 21-year-old Alexander Lamar Banks Jr. allegedly drove his car into the family, then exited the vehicle and opened fire with a shotgun. A 3-year-old girl named Harlow was killed in the attack. Three adults were injured: the child’s father (37) the mother (33) a 72-year-old woman who ran toward the scene to help. The bystander who intervened The 72-year-old woman reportedly ran toward the scene to help the family and suffered severe head and facial injuries, requiring brain surgery. According to investigators and witness accounts cited in court documents, the suspect struck her multiple times during the attack. Charges Banks has been charged with: first-degree premeditated murder three counts of assault with intent to murder multiple firearms offenses. He was arraigned and entered a not-guilty plea through standing mute, and his attorney requested a mental competency evaluation to determine whether he can stand trial. Reported motive Investigators say Banks told police he believed online threats claimed he had to kill someone “to save his family.” What’s not confirmed in reliable reporting The viral posts circulating online often add elements that aren’t confirmed in mainstream reporting, such as: claims that the attack was explicitly motivated by race certain graphic details about the assault statements framing it as a racial targeting case Those claims have not been confirmed in the reporting from police statements or major outlets so far.

Another day, another spectacularly horrific Black-on-White murder that no one hears about, that would be the number one story in the world if it were White-on-anyone-else. On February 13, Black 21-year-old Alexander Lamar Banks was driving around, admittedly looking for people to kill, when he spotted a White mom and dad, out for an evening walk, pulling their 3-year-old daughter in a pink wagon in Delta Township, Michigan (77% White, 11% Black). That's when Banks targeted them, accelerating his car in their direction, driving off the road, and smashing through the White family. Banks then exited the vehicle, retrieved a shotgun, and fired multiple rounds, hitting all three family members and killing 3-year-old Harlow Smith. He reloaded the weapon before approaching Harlow's dad and shooting him again at close range. Banks punched the White father in the face and beat him with the shotgun. He then grabbed the White mother by the hair, twisting her head and trying to break her neck when she attempted to intervene. A 72-year-old White woman named Barb Cook saw what was happening and ran toward the murder scene to try to help the family. With his gun empty, Banks smashed 72-year-old Barb repeatedly in the head with it. He hit her with such force that her hair and flesh were later recovered from the muzzle. After beating Barb, Banks dropped the gun and fled. 37-year-old dad Cameron Smith, 33-year-old mom Paige Smith, and 72-year-old Barb Cook all survived the encounter that claimed young Harlow's life. Barb Cook required brain surgery and facial reconstruction, and went into a coma (as of the most recent update, she remains in that coma). Now, we wait to see how easy the system goes on Alexander Lamar Banks when it's inevitably determined that he was “not in the right state of mind” and has the IQ of speed bump. To recap, a Black psychopath quite literally hunted a White family, in public, in the light of day, running them down with his vehicle before shooting them repeatedly and savagely beating them in someone's front yard, killing a 3-year-old, then bludgeoning an unrelated 72-year-old grandma into a coma, and virtually no one knows, or will ever know, that any of this happened. But everyone on Earth knows that a White girl said a magic word on a Minnesota playground last year.
