@thestinkeye I never collected flight pay for time I wasn't flying. I also never tried to collect disability because I make $400,000 per year as an airline pilot now. I'm totally able to work.

Just because you can collect Base Pay doesn't mean you should. Just because you can collect BAH doesn't mean you should. Just because you can collect BAS doesn't mean you should. Just because you can collect Flight Pay doesn't mean you should. Just because you can collect Family Separation Pay doesn't mean you should. Just because you can collect Hostile Fire Pay doesn't mean you should. Just because you can collect Retirement doesn't mean you should.

Just because you can collect VA benefits doesn’t mean you should. The visceral reaction some will have to this statement underscores why the VA system is so broken. Finding a way to get the VA to sign your paperwork doesn’t make your benefits ethical or moral if you know you shouldn’t have them (or know you don’t need them). Fraud is both a legal and ethical question. The system is there for those who need it, not those who want it. While normies slog through years of BS to get compensation for real issues, the gray market “consultants” get bogus ratings for thousands of others. Sure, it may not flag on an audit for illegality, but it’s still unethical and immoral. (And also still fraud). The military is at it best when troops act with the highest integrity in all things, it’s very sad to see we’ve been debased to mere legalese as we decide who will receive our finite resources for disabled veterans. To put it more bluntly, you should be embarrassed to show your face in public if you did two years in the Navy reserve and are collecting disability for “anxiety.” I don’t care if the VA said yes, if that’s the totality of your chart, what you’re doing is unethical and immoral. I guarantee you there will be many who cannot even comprehend the concepts I’ve outlined here. To them the VA is just an infinite free money machine and they’re going to take as much as possible even if they know deep down they don’t really rate it or they don’t really need it. Many haven’t even considered the ethical and moral component of their decision on whether or not to pursue these benefits. For the record I am entitled to VA disability benefits but have never pursued a VA disability rating…mainly for the reasons I’ve outline above.

@barbour_mike @killoxium @BSideLiberty @CalebJHull Plenty of private sector workers can say the same thing. Difference is that if they're disability, future earnings are deducted from their disability payments. It's repugnant to see fellow veterans collecting $40K per year on top of a $400K salary. Calling it "fun money"

I'm happy for you. I know 3 AF vets with anxiety drawing multiple 1000s per month, working a normal full time job. Never saw combat, or injured and barely overseas. they sat a desks. they will draw that forever. that's bullshit. Literally, you chose to sign your life away to the military. I now I, the average American, has to pay for you for the rest of your life? Fuck that.

When I was a social worker, two of my clients were exposed to Agent Orange. The process to get approved for VA disability benefits was absurd. The disability claim, military records, test results, medical records, and "scientific proof" that the condition was caused by Agent Orange... Then the test results were not accepted, so they had to do more. This went on for YEARS. How these people are doing it, I have NO idea.
Braeden@BraedenSorbo

This guy went to school on a Government scholarship as a Navy reservist and now gets $2,000 a month in disability for his anxiety and depression. Glad to know my tax dollars aren't being waster here🙄

@LeighWolf I fought the VA every step of the way. Nothing was given freely and they continue to deny legitimate claims

A married couple revealed their government checks. “$142,000 a year.” From disability. $4,700 a month for her. $7,200 a month for him. What does it say about the system when they’re making more doing nothing than the taxpayers working to fund it.

@PickleOlympics @BSideLiberty @CalebJHull The word disability is the issue with so many people. It's compensation for an altered life. My joints are fucked, the VA pays for that. Can I still work? Of course, but I live on nsaids. Can I still lift things? Sure, but I pay the price the following days.

@BSideLiberty @CalebJHull It's fraud because the money is supposed to be for people who can no longer work. Not as a bonus income for people who can and do work.

I expect every Republican who was outraged at people for celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death to immediately condemn Trump for saying “I’m glad he’s dead” about Robert Mueller. This is disgusting.

@fresheggistan Part of this issue is the VA math too, your 10% isn't 10% of the $3900 100% 90% isn't actually 90% of the pay, only about 60% of it, so the VA has incentivized going for 100% perversely Your pay should be almost double that for 110%

Robert Mueller was a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart recipient. This is not how we treat a distinguished veteran, prosecutor and former FBI Director. This tweet is disgusting and grossly inappropriate. The irony is that while Mueller’s report had some shocking evidence, it did not recommend prosecuting Trump.

@LeighWolf I had to fight for my disability. Every time I was denied and had to appeal. Trying to connect one issue with another? Only 4 studies showing a direct correlation? Nah not enough evidence my guy, denied

If you think the Somali fraud is bad, buckle up for the forthcoming reckoning over VA fraud. Nobody wants to talk about it because it inherently requires criticizing “veterans,” but the problem isn’t going to fix itself. There’s an entire cottage industry that helps “veterans” defraud the VA at the expense of veterans that are actually disabled. The culture has become so toxic and entitled that ALL veterans are advised to pursue a VA disability rating, regardless of the nature of their service. In fact, there’s now people joining specifically to pursue easy, lifetime “disability” payments. This behavior is enraging to people who are, or know, genuinely disabled veterans.
Paul@WomanDefiner

I am begging someone, anyone to clean up the disability fraud in the VA. This guy was a Navy reservist who went to school for the Government and got out after 2 years with disability benefits for anxiety and depression. This has to end.

My sister and I went out together earlier today. She took some photos during the outing and posted them on her WhatsApp status. Less than 5 minutes later, her fiancé started calling her angrily, asking why she would go out dressed like a prost!tute. My sister hung up on him. When she tried calling him back later, he had already bl0cked her and sent a message telling her not to come back to his place. Was there really anything wrong or bäd with her outing and the way she was dressed? Or is his reaction completely out of line?

Went to my second ever broadway show the other week and it was a one-man performance by Daniel Radcliffe aka Harry Potter. He spends the 20 minutes before every show handing out props and recruiting people to interact with him during the show. Never seen someone so dialled in. Was an amazing performance, 1.5 hours straight, no intermission. He does this night after night. Did some math with Claude and he probably makes $50K per week which is great $$ but still considerably less than what he would make for a movie role. His parents also helped him invest his Harry Potter earnings well and he makes $660K/month just off investments (UK companies are required to make full financial disclosures, very different from the US but very useful for this kind of pocket watching). Which means he never has to work again he just continues to do this for the love of the game. These kinds of in-person experiences and acts of passion are one of the few things that can’t be replaced by AI Oh also he does not like it when you call him Harry or bring up his old movies. Ask me how I know.

Ok let’s explore the “She Rejected Me Because I’m Nice” myth. This is Janine, you work with her. She’s fine: a solid fine. Not unbelievably pretty, not hideous, just fine. Could easily work at any Walmart. Janine is nice to you. You’re nice to Janine, because you have no reason not to be. Why would you be horrible? You joke around, make small talk at the office printer. You don’t fancy her and it never crossed your mind. One day, Janine asks if you want to get coffee at lunch. You say yes, because she’s never shown any romantic interest in you and it’s not that kind of bond. At the cafe, Janine looks at you and strokes your hand and goes “I really see this going somewhere, like forever.” You aren’t feeling it. She gets upset and accuses you of only liking bad girls. Have you rejected Janine because she’s “too nice?”

If you made it through season one, then you absolutely cannot be shocked that The Pitt is hyper progressive. I enjoy the series for what it is, but it is hamfisted & cheesy, so if you made it this far, being suddenly outraged by what you're seeing is solely on you. The alarm bells have been there the entire time, lmao.

Here is The Pitt on @HBO demonizing @ICEgov agents. Naturally, they make the agents the bad guys and the illegal alien the innocent victim. Done with this series, that I used to watch.
